[[Trying for a less hackneyed scenario]]

You wake up after going to bed with a fever, and discover that you're some kind of anthropomorphic animal. Not necessarily the one you would have chosen, but handsome enough... and functional and a comfortable thing to be. Your dog (you have a dog in this scenario, deal with it) is trying to wake you up because it's hungry, and you haven't fed it in at least a day. It's telling you this. In your native language. Its paws seem suspiciously handlike.

You feel great, better than you have in years. Your apparent age is, well, you're at the peak of health. When you ask your dog what happened, it vaguely remembers finding you asleep, and trying to wake you up by licking you, but you didn't wake up and after a while it started feeling cold and tired so it went to sleep and woke up like this. It apologizes but apparently its memories from before this happened are kind of fuzzy... it knows it's thinking better than it used to and it's happy about this.

Oh, it also figured out how to use the restroom, and tells you all about it, because it's an awesome trick. It still wants to go for a walk after you feed it. You're going to do that now aren't you? It would have fed itself but it's not allowed in the kitchen, and it's a good dog.

After you feed the dog, you check online, and there's no evidence that this has happened to anyone else.

What do you do?

So something I've wondered: Why do furries apparently have a hangup with FNAF? I've actually been warned against posting Dream Parallax up on here due to it having multiple FNAF references, and I've heard about furries who severely dislike the games, as well as the fanbase. Which yeah...there are a lot of "Kids" (which I'm seeing used as an insult which IMO is tantamount to calling someone autistic or F'gt at this point), there's the RP accounts, the theories, how "It's everywhere" and so on and so fourth. Not to mention people swearing up and down that "it's not furry" despite, y'know, it featuring anthro animal animatronics.

But meh. Flame shield activated. Prepping for a billion downvotes.

I've been thinking about this for a few weeks now, how the animal kingdom is quite diverse, but we've only touched a portion of it. A good sizable portion, but still not quite the whole.

I have a few species noted down as ones to use for characters in my stories, but I'd like to know what some species are that other people haven't seen much, or at all, but would like to see more of.

Also, I'm bored, and learning about now things is fun.

Some of the things I've thought of are:

• Insects and the like, in general. Spiders are cool, and mantises, and beetles, and cockroaches, and ants, and butterflies, and moths, and mosquitoes.

• Aquatic animals, because sharks and orcas are really the only ones commonly seen. I'd like to get to know some more fish, like koi and other cool ones.

Other than that, I'm having trouble thinking of specific species to look into. The community's pretty good about having at least something for pretty much most land-based animals, but that's just in my experience, I'd like to hear what you guys think.

A while back, about 2013, I started to really get into a YouTuber, and his name is Markiplier. My ma and I are going to Comic-Con 2016, and the true reason that I only want to go there is because of my senp... I mean, because of Mark. I can't shut the heck up about it and my ma is really annoyed. I'm also really hyping up this event even though I know I shouldn't and I'm gonna be disappointed when everything isn't gonna plan out in my head. So how do I stop myself from hyping up this event? And how do I stop thinking that Mark and I could be together?

Hi, Pandaco,

It used to be that this sort of fan crush only happened with young people and rock musicians (e.g., the throngs of young girls chasing after The Beatles, but you’re too young to recall that). Anyway, it’s interesting that these days people with popular blogs and YouTube channels are getting large fan bases.

For the benefit of any of my readers seeing this letter who don’t know, Markiplier is the pseudonym for Mark Fischbach, a 26-year-old videogame commentator based in Los Angeles (https://www.youtube.com/user/markiplierGAME/), who is evidently becoming quite popular.

So, Pandaco, what you have here is a crush on a media personality. He’s twice your age and—let’s be realistic—the two of you are not likely to become boy- and girlfriend. You need to calm down and get a little perspective here.

How to gain perspective:

1. Realize that the guy you see on your computer is probably not exactly who he is in person. What do you really know about him other than his YouTube personality?
2. Look at this logically: he’s twice your age, you live in Colorado, he lives in California. There’s no way this would work as a relationship.
3. Sometimes we get excited about someone because they are new and fresh. Here’s a strategy: watch his videos constantly for hour on end until they become boring and repetitive, then see if you still feel the same way.
4. If that doesn’t work, try the opposite tactic: Stop watching his stuff altogether and remove any reminders of him from your daily life. Fill the gap in your life by spending time with friends and family and hobbies or school work.

It’s fine to be a fan and like someone, even cheer them on, write them fan mail, and wish them well. Go ahead and go see him at Comic-Con, get his autograph, say “Hi! I enjoy your work!” and leave it at that. Your getting all hyped up about an interesting guy who is becoming a bit famous is perfectly natural. As long as you stay real about it, you’ll be fine. Oh, and spare your mom from talking about him. Talk about it with your friends to get it out of your system.

I'm bored and thought of a fun little game to play! You come up with a fursona/character based only on your username. Small rule: It can't be the same species as your 'sona right now. Make sure to explain your choice too! I'll go first :P Bonus points for a background, extra bonus points (and hugs) for doodles

With a name like Jumbojet777, it'd probably have a 'sona that'd be some kind of bird. Let's go with a peregrine falcon cause those things are stuuuupid fast. Probably a fat falcon tho, cause "jumbo"jets aren't exactly svelt.

So I'd be Jumbojet the chubby peregrine falcon.

What'd you be?

EDIT: if your name is exactly what your 'sona is, maybe take the most defining characteristic of that species and draw a parallel to another? Like for /u/a_jackal, jackals are somewhat lone or pair hunters, so think of something that'd be similar!
