Worldbuilding time! Tell me about your headcanon furry world.

Furry Reddit - Fri 7 Aug 2015 - 06:05

In case you don't know what I mean, I'm referring to your personal thoughts on how a world full of furries would be. How it would operate and who would live there and what they would do. How do you, personally, like to think about the world of the furries?

What kind of species do or don't live there? Have they always been furries, or was there some sort of great 'turn'. Do they live in a world of magic and fantasy, or a realm of darkness and ruin? Is it a perfected utopia gifted with eternal tranquility and joy, or is it a twisted realm choked with unending suffering and dread? Whatever the case may be, I wanna hear about it!

I think one of the greatest aspects of this fandom is that there is no 'canon' source material that binds our interest together. Everyone is free to construct their own ideal world, define the mechanics and metaphysics of its lore, and create something truly unique and extraordinary with their limitless imagination. Many people have already voyaged the infinite seas of creation, so why don't you tell me about your journey and your world?

Am I alone in this?

Furry Reddit - Fri 7 Aug 2015 - 05:00

Whenever I see someone talking about thier sona, it usually means that that is the same one they've stuck with since the start. Sure thier sona may have changed a bit, just as they themselves have, but the species, personality, etc, stays largely the same. But that was never really the case with me. I've found I don't really have a set fursona, that he (or even she) fluctuates constantly. One day I may be a monster hunting wolf named Rashu, the next a panther named Ken going through college. Almost like I cant decide. Is it an identity crisis? Maybe. Do I just like making up new characters? Almost definitely. Surely I can't be the only one who has multiple fursonas for every situation.

White Bear in a Golden Cage

In-Fur-Nation - Fri 7 Aug 2015 - 01:59

According to Cartoon Brew, Lionsgate Features is set to release their next animated feature, Norm of the North, on January 15th, 2016 — which would put it in direct competition with the planned release of The Nut Job 2. Lionsgate, of course, is best known in animation circles for the Alpha & Omega films as well as (shiver!) the infamous Food Fight! movie. This time around they present the story of Norm, a polar bear who travels to New York City to try and save his arctic home from development… but winds up distracted by the glamour and glitz all around him. (Sort of “The Bear Who Fell To Earth”.) Directed by Trevor Wall, Norm of the North stars the voice of Rob Schneider (Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo). The article at Cartoon Brew includes the first trailer.
