As you may have heard floating through the air in Hollywood lately, Dreamworks Animation has been worrying a lot of people lately(notably investors) with a lack of hit movies. Several of the studio’s offerings over the last two years have not performed as hoped or expected at the box office — and now, Penguins of Madagascar is not exactly on track to set any new records either. Even How to Train Your Dragon 2, which was a blockbuster earlier this year by most standards, was not as much of one as many had expected. All of this seems to have made Dreamworks rather skittish about their upcoming slate of films — especially when it comes to the competition. To that end the studio recently announced that Kung Fu Panda 3, originally slated for release in December of 2015, has been pushed back four months to March of 2016 — presumably to keep out of the way of Star Wars VII, or at least that’s the buzz around town. Interestingly, that move puts the new date for Kung Fu Panda 3 just two weeks after Disney is scheduled to release Zootopia. It seems like 2016 just got a little more interesting — and 2015, perhaps less so.

I haven't been here for long, but it seems as though people give their sonas traits that the creator normally doesn't have. I tried to make mine look as physically like me as possible, and I'm wondering why many people don't. (Expression of the desired self? Because it looks cool? Because I've always wanted to be blue, ripped, and the captain of an interdimensional fleet?)

Hey there, name's Kou. I'm kinda bored, and I don't have all that many friends, so I figured I'd just see if anyone wants to do something over Skype.

Here's a little bit of info about my sona.

Name: Kou. I'm not creative.
Gender: Female, my sona doesn't acually have any genitals though. I'll explain the reason for this in a bit.
Appearance: About 4'3" tall black cat, red eyes, white paws, very flat chest, anywhere from 2 to an infinite number of arms (she can change how many she has), usually wears glasses, an unzipped white jacket with a red tank underneath, and a short white skirt with a red stripe. Under the clothes, she has no vag/nipples, the reason being just that I don't like them. Hope you don't mind.
Likes: Video games, all food, yarn, typical cat stuff.
Dislikes: Fighting, water(scared of it), people being annoying.

And now a bit about what...kinks, I guess you could say, that I like.

Like: Mainly extra limbs or other body parts, other interests include fattening, micro and macro, age regression, breast expansion...it's really quite a long list. It's actually a bit embarrassing.
Dislike: Genitals and sex, I just don't get the appeal of them. Also gore, scat, pee, any other bodily waste.
Anything you're not sure about, just ask.

My question-in the gist, is this;

Was anyone else dangerously close to being a anti-fur before being in this fandom? I wuz :/

Background:

I had the typical outsiders view, until I saw a local news program criticise furries. Quick fact about me: whenever I see something on the media, I immediately disagree with the obvious biass they are trying to push (most commonly violence irl in the relation to video game violence). The opinion I had of Furries was pretty much based on what a couple of my mates thought, and YouTube comments (yeah me, good sources :s) and I was pretty anti the whole thing.

However, getting back to the news report, I decided to do some digging, and at first, my opinion seemed valid. Then I dug deeper, happened to get into a chat with another mate who was a Furry, which led me here a while ago. And it really only took a few minutes to realise that I was the asshole, not this group. Eventually, I sorta gave in to the fact that I love this fandom, and here I am now, a while ahead.

So, I was wondering, as I said, has anyone else had a similar experience? If so what was it?

What: Join us for a Christmas party this Saturday featuring movies, Secret Santa, mystery gifts, games, etc.

When: Saturday, December 20th from 6pm to Midnight

Where: 638 Grove Avenue Wood River, IL 62095

The current plan is to start off next Saturday evening with A Christmas Story on Netflix (if it is on Netflix, that is) with Chinese dinner to follow the movie.

People are welcome to contribute money towards the dinner if they wish, and it would certainly be appreciated, but it is not required. Movies will be decided by group vote the rest of the night.

After dinner, we will be opening Secret Santa gifts and mystery gifts. To be eligible for a mystery gift, you must be one of the first ten people to arrive regardless of whether or not you participated in Secret Santa. The gifts will be given out with a random drawing.

As for drinks and snacks, some will be provided but for the most part it will be bring your own.

This is going to be a lot of fun! I look forward to seeing you all!
