Exploring the Fandom Through Data – RMFC 2012 Panel

[adjective][species] - Thu 16 Aug 2012 - 11:00

We were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to present a panel this year at Rocky Mountain Fur Con, and let me tell you, it was an absolute blast being able to talk about exploring the fandom to a standing-room-only crowd (even if we did have the Worst Projector). While much of the information involved in the panel itself has already been covered here, the most fun part of the session was the discussion that followed. There are just so many insightful furries out there, and it was excellent having Klisoura, Zik, and Kyell there as well.

We also had the chance to record, so after the cut are two videos: one of the panel portion and one of the discussion portion. You’ll have to forgive my nervousness, of course, but I do hope you enjoy the panel as much as I enjoyed participating.

Furry News Network - Thu 16 Aug 2012 - 04:25
Author: Fred Here is the fourth approximately-annual anthology of “literary” (non-erotic) anthropomorphic fiction from Bad Dog Books. Looking for volunteers

Furry Reddit - Thu 16 Aug 2012 - 03:39

I had a long thought about my life recently and its been going nowhere. I have these good ideas for games but I can't do much on my own so I'm asking for volunteers to join my game company Inari studios. I'm looking for coders, artists, writers and cool people to help out and what not. If you have questions feel free to ask.

Also here some some good music to listen too, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX__4aHwYzM

Friend to Elves and Animals

In-Fur-Nation - Thu 16 Aug 2012 - 01:37

The Ascension is a fantasy novel series by J.A. Guinta. The Last Incarnation, first book in the series, was published last year by Brick Cave Books. Here’s the publisher’s description: “The son of a trapper, raised by elves, befriended by animals, entrusted with magic, Barr was but a boy on a journey that had taken many, many lifetimes. Seeking to avenge his father’s death, he would cross into Lumintor, home to shapelings of all manner and size. Little did he know, Revyn, the God of Change, had plans of his own, plans set in motion long before Barr was ever born. It was what Revyn had been waiting for, the time when one of the new races bore a child on its final lesson, a soul on the verge of enlightenment.” This is a link to find The Last Incarnation on Amazon. And that, my friends, is one Big Dog!

Papabear Asks His Readers for Comments

Ask Papabear - Wed 15 Aug 2012 - 18:56
Dear Readers,

Here's a switch: Papabear is going to ask you for advice and input on something that happened to him that has him quite upset.

A couple months ago, I was staying with friends in another state, trying to resolve a business issue. They were kind enough to take me in and save me the hotel expense. Also, one of them had a car and was nice and let me drive it on occasion. Anyone who has rented a car lately knows how much money they cost, even for a few days.

Noticing that the tires were all bald (and knowing that my friends had no money to spare for repairs--none), in appreciation I took the car to a garage and had four brand new General tires (guaranteed for 75,000 miles, so good ones) put on and paid for an alignment, too. I took the car back and presented my gift, which I thought was appreciated.

Today, months later, I found out that it was not appreciated. The owner of the car is apparently pissed at me for doing work on the car without asking first.

So, my question to you, dear readers: was I out of line? Was I presumptuous? I thought it would be a nice surprise (I, personally, enjoy good surprises), but I guess it was not.

Thanks for your thoughts.

--Papabear
