Ep. 85 - Le Wank - We're back w/ a crazy ep! We're all over this place this time, with Obamacare website redesigns,...
All This For a Snack?
Comic books are getting silly again, or at least getting weird. Later this month DC Comics presents the premier issue of a new bi-monthly full-color series, Scooby-Doo Team-Up. Here’s what they say about it: “Rumors of a giant bat-creature bring Scooby and the gang on the run—but Batman and Robin are already on the trail of their old foe, the monstrous Man-Bat. Before long, the crooks behind a fake bat-creature will come face-to-face with the real thing…with the good guys caught in the middle!” Got that? It’s written by Sholly Fisch and illustrated by Dario Brizuela. In the 2nd issue, Scooby-Doo teams up with Ace the Bat-Hound to fight the evil Scarecrow! Yes, really.
So, I'm trying to find a fursona to represent a version of myself, but I'm stuck... (also intro post!)
First things first, no, you haven't seen me around here, I've been lurking and this is my first post, so hi! Second, if this is in the wrong sub, and it'd fit better in one of the other subs, please tell me. I've made a backup of this post, but if it's been killed and deleted, let me know where I can post it.
But I'm trying to sort out a fursona for myself (that will heavily be based upon my personality, with a few tweaks), and I want to ultimately have this fursona be more or less me in the fandom, but i'm struggling with a couple of things. One is that **I have no idea what species to choose that fits (I'm happy to sacrifice a little of the fit for something that looks a bit nicer, though I do want it to be something like 85-90% personality, the rest going into looks.
I do have a few things I've worked out:
- I'm probably going to go with a pink, white and black colour scheme, though I haven't worked out a pattern (reason: I like pink. That is the only reason.);
- Not really into scalies. Nothing against them, just not my cup of tea. (a few suggested dragons, and that doesn't feel right for me at all). I'd like a species with fur or long hair of some kind.
- The character is going to be female.
- I'd prefer not to have anything from my country (Australia); I'm a bit of a mixed bag in terms of family nationality. I like that, and I think a non-native creature would represent that best. In addition, I'm rather different from those around me.
- I'm a dog lover, but I'm not necessarily after a dog. If something else fits, suggest it.
- I am also very clumsy in RL, so if there's any way at all to represent that with a species choice, I'm open to it.
A bit of a personality profile to give everyone an idea:
I'm friendly, but very nervous about making new friends (though always ready to do so), I try to be understanding, level headed, don't let either head or heart take the reigns too strongly, rather musical, very wordy and a lover of words, always singing or writing a tune, very nervous at first, but I open up very eagerly once trust is established.
In addition to that, I'm fairly flirtatious and insanely kinky (you can blame RPing for that). That said, I'm not totally fixated on sex, and it's probably going to be a running gag with this character that she often gets shut down or denied.
One final thing: I have a definite silly side.
In addition to getting suggestions for the species, I'd really like suggestions on the name if you have any. Also, a link to an anthro (probably going to go anthro with her), version of the species if available, it'd really help to make the decision.
I've been trying to hash this out with a few fur friends from an IRC I frequent, but it seems like I get different suggestions. from each of them.
Also looking to make friends! I'll post a little more about myself in a comment underneath this. It's getting way too long.

Ubisoft Considers Beyond Good & Evil a “Mistake”
Though Beyond Good & Evil is now considered to be a cult classic, this was not always the case. Despite critic acclaim, the game did not sell as many units as other games of the platforming genre did in the PS2 era. However, those that did play the game have been begging for Ubisoft to make sequel. This has continued for years, and still goes on to this day.
Unfortunately for those fans, recent statements from Ubisoft make the possibility of a sequel seem less and less likely. When speaking to GamesIndustry International, creative director of Child of Light Patrick Plourde said that while pitching an idea for a turn-based game, the bosses at Ubisoft were hesitant. The cited reason is that they wanted to avoid another “mistake” like Beyond Good & Evil.
I can understand Ubisoft's hesitation to do something like that again. Beyond Good & Evil simply didn't sell. However, as someone who played the game myself, I'm with the fans who want a sequel. Overtime, the game has become so well-known that I think a sequel will do well. Since I'm not paying Ubisoft's bills, that's easy for me to say. Did you guys play Beyond Good and Evil? If so, what do you think? Comment below with your thoughts.
Open for commissions!
I've started beefing up my collection of examples, and am now open for commissions! Send me a message if interested or if you have any questions. :3

Quick question about furless animals
Quick question... if someone is dressed up as a snake, which has no fur, is that person still a furry?

He's New to Furry and Needs Help Getting His Paws Wet
First of all, I'd like to say thanks for creating such a great avenue for people to ask questions. To be quite honest, I'm not really sure if I'm a furry myself. Ever since I was little, I've gotten aroused at the site of people being transformed into animals or anthropomorphic animals in general. For most of my younger years, the urges went away but have resurfaced in my teens.
I really need some suggestions as to how to cope with this fetish. I am an outgoing person and sociable. Unfortunately, I've never had the guts to tell anyone about this weird kink (even my parents don't know about it). I'd really like to try to find a community of people I could talk to about this and to help me understand it. It would be nice to start a relationship with a girl who I could relate to and start a true relationship with.
I don't have a fursona and I just don't know if I am a furry or not. I'm not into the idea of fursuiting at all. Where should I start and who should I talk to? Thank you for your time and I truly appreciate you taking time to have this advice column.
Sincerely,
Ash

Dear Ash,
I can see you need a lot of help becoming familiar with furries and coping with your personal identity. First, let me clear up some misconceptions you have:
- You do not need a fursona to be a furry.
- You do not need a fursuit to be a furry.
- If you find anthropomorphic characters arousing, you’re probably a furry.
- However, that doesn’t mean you have to be aroused by anthros to be a furry; many furries are not into the sexual side of it at all and, indeed, dislike hearing it called a “fetish.”
As for talking to people about being a furry, I invite you to peruse the “Coming Out Furry” category on this website for some tips on talking to family about being a furry.
And, as for finding a girlfriend who is a furry and who will understand who you are, believe it or not there are furry dating sites you can check out, including FurryMate.com and FurryDate.com.
I would recommend you join some furry social sites, too. Although FurAffinity.net is the most popular, you will find that a large part of its focus is on art. I like FA, but would recommend you check out Furry4Life.org for a site that is more about social networking than art. Also, I am slowly working on the American Furry Association, which will be a site helping to connect furries, too.
Start talking to other furries, and try to see if there are local furmeets or cons you can go to for extra exposure to the fandom. You need to get over your fear of being a “weirdo” and learn that there is a large community out there that shares your interests. Being different doesn’t make you weird; it makes you unique and fun and interesting.
Try not to be ashamed of who you are and what you enjoy. As long as you are not hurting anyone, there is nothing wrong with having unconventional sexual preferences—or preferences about anything else, for that matter.
Feel free to write again if you have more questions.
Hugs,
Papabear
On the topic or the furry show...
Is there any action at all that can be taken to steer the show I a direction? Like at all?

Interesting relationship problem (sorry if put on wrong subreddit)
Hello everyone I have recently have come upon a problem. My mate's mother is extremely controlling even though he is 20. She has blocked almost all communication between the two of us. With this happening my mate says that if he stays with me he will lose everyone he has know and wants to go back to his mother loving him but I know that choosing this will change him but he still wants to be with me. What do you think we should do? Thanks to anyone who tries to help me.

Looking for some Battlebuddies to team up in Battlefield4 =D
Hey Guys!
As a long-time Silent reader of Reddit, I’ve decided to finally make an account here and post this, because a friend of mine and I a trying to find some buddies to Team up with on Battlefield 4, since most of my other Friends are not Interested in it enough, or are kinda unreliable, haha.
We are both located in Europe (Austria & Germany) so we are mainly looking for European Players. English for communication works fine for both of us, but of course we speak German too. We tend to team up on Skype for our Games, but any other thing (Teamspeak, or whatever) can be used too. We mainly play in the evening-hours (between ~ 7 pm and 12 PM UTC+1) or during the weekend.
It would be pretty cool to team up with some fellow Furs, we are both pretty chilled Guys (He: Dergon, me: Burd)
My Battlelog/Origin Name is pvschwert and you can add me there if you are interested, or reply here! =) Link: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/user/pvschwert/
I am not the best player/shooter around, but I try my best to get better at actualy killing things with my guns. I prefer to play a supporting Role, mainly Engineer so far (all unlocks, yay!) or in Vehicles. I’m doing pretty decent with the choppers too I think.
