I just checked the website, seeing what the theme was for next year (gotta start preparing early! :D), and I guess they're switching hotels. I'll be real sad to see the Doubletree leave. That's the RMFC place, man! But still, hope the new one is just as good.

Hello /r/furry furries!

Here's for a day 19 progress update!

I have myself a short holiday, so I decided to open up commissions, as well as do another sketch giveaway. It will be a little different this time - to better give everyone a chance, I will randomly select entries one at a time, starting 3 hours after this post is made!

EDIT Alright guys! I have my main rig fired up, and overclocked beyond reason! As soon as I finish redrawing an older commission (the startrek fox captain), I will start picking out sketches at random!

brief history : So I've been interested in the fandom for quite a while, lurking on the edges of the internet but not really getting involved. Recently I've been trying to come up with a fursona, but I just keep hitting a brick wall when I try to figure out any kind of detail. Species was easy (ferret) but things like fur color, stature, name, etc. I've found really difficult to decide on.

So I was wondering,

Did you have any trouble deciding the details of your fursona?

I know there's a Wiki for this channel, but I'd like to hear from users. I get it to some degree. The idea of anthropomorphic animals, or something outside the "norm" can be stimulating to many minds. There's a reason we saw it for decades in the 80's and 90's on Saturday morning cartoons, and even major studios like Disney and Warner Brothers. I personally appreciate the the art style, technique, and the way an animal can be portrayed through a human mind.

However, I don't get the whole brony thing, the outfits, the "yiffing" as they call it. I hear that "furry" is a widely used term, which could mean the difference between someone liking The Lion King, to someone wanting to have sex in a dog outfit.

What is "furry"? What constitutes the definition? I feel like it's a big moving target, and everyone has a definition for it.
