Furry You Should Know: A Panther is not an animal species.

Furry Reddit - Thu 6 Mar 2014 - 07:53

A black panther is not an animal species, but just the name to designate a big cat with a black fur coat cause by a genetical mutation.

Black panthers are usually leopards or jaguars, although the term may also describe a jaguarundi or even a cougar, although no true black cougars have ever been seen and their existence is debated.

Kevin Spacey is... Keyboard Cat!

Fursday - Watch List - Thu 6 Mar 2014 - 04:00

The clever thing about this parody is its broad appeal on various levels. You have the younger internet generation who will recognise several youtube memes, namely Keyboard Cat, Hamster on a Piano and Dramatic Chipmunk. For film buffs they will recognise actors like Kevin Spacey, Sir Ben Kingsley and Gary Oldman, as well as the sketch being based on the film Amadeus. As for furs, well you get to see the likes of Kevin Spacey dressed in fursuits.

Many of this year's Oscar nominated films were adapted from books, including The Wolf of Wall Street, Captain Phillips, and Twelve Years a Slave - but times are changing. Our plan is to escort the movie business into the 21st century, so we enlisted the help of some of the greatest talents in the world of film to help us adapt popular YouTube videos into big-budget Hollywood movies.

I admire the family for how calm and trusting they are around the lion. I know I would not feel comfortable.

Need help finding story.

Furry Reddit - Thu 6 Mar 2014 - 00:47

I was reading a fantasy romance story somewhere online at least a year and a half ago, but likely longer, and I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it. I'm fairly certain it was being translated from Japanese, but don't quote me on that. I cannot remember the species of any of the characters, but I do recall that the female protagonist could discovered she had some proficiency in magic and could control plants or something. Thanks in advance for any help.

Anyone else going to Furnal Equinox?

Furry Reddit - Wed 5 Mar 2014 - 23:25

I've never been to a furry convention before and this one's near me so I thought I'd check it out. According to its site it draws quite a few people out each year. I also hear it's better with friends. I can't find anyone who's not really busy from midterms so I'm going alone.

Are any of you guys going?

Edit: also do you guys have any tips for being at a con? I've done Fan Expo but all I do there is roam around.

Why are bright, vivid colors so popular in fursona-design, instead of more natural colors?

Furry Reddit - Wed 5 Mar 2014 - 22:46

I've always wondered this. I had always imagined that one would want to keep to more muted, realistic colors; but from the different fursonas I've seen, unnatural colors seem to be more common than natural ones!

Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on this.
