I'm really depressed and I need people to talk to. my anxiety is controlling my life and my aspirations and goals I've set for myself aren't coming to fruition. I'm just scared of the future and I could really use some people to talk to. this is a shitty time to post this, considering my medication is about to knock me out (btw sorry for typos) and im going to bed. I'd love more than anything in the world to wake up and be greeted by this community and have you guys help me through this tough part of my life. thanks, and goodnight.

Title. I want to practice more, and I want to draw a bunch of different characters and types, so I'd love to take some requests and try them out! I'm not the best artist, so I wouldn't expect too much if I were you, but I'd still like to try!

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys! I'll keep accepting them if someone new happens along this thread. Like I said, I'm not the best artist, but I like trying and I want to improve. There's a furry convention coming up in my area, and I'm unsure whether it would be worth it to attend. There's a possibility it could be awesome and I could meet great people, but there's also the possibility of spending two hours on a bus to then be miserable all day.

Input from people with anxiety problems who have previously attended cons themselves would be great.

Hello I am somewhat new to being a furry. I have never met any recent furs and also am very shy. I would like to chat with some nice furs (appropriate and no yiff conversations). Here is something I realized I didn’t think enough about: Japanese Furry Fans!

While this video does have some bad back lighting and not the best camera work I found just seeing all these Japanese fursuits amazing and overall I like the idea.

Damn, I wish some of these guys would come to Conventions closer to me.

For the longest time I've been going through a lot of problems.

A lot of personal issues and the newest one hit me the hardest. I... Failed out of my first year of college and just got dumped. When I was as young as 10 or so I was told to just study, be a good boy and go to college by my grandmom. That was during the time when she wasn't exactly the most caring/nicest person (she changed however). That was a few months ago and I'm just starting to get over it.

In those months I've been very withdrawn from everyone I know. And I questioned my own self worth over and over and over more then another time in my life. I was scared everything I did was just for nothing. That I was nothing.

I didn't feel like I could talk to my mom/dad about this because they already have enough to deal with (bills, money, food etc) and a depressed 20 year old wouldn't help.

And my former girlfriend didn't even tell me its over. She... Just stopped. And no replies of any kind.

The reason I'm telling you all this is because I wanted to say this:

I love you all.

I know I hardly post anything here and mostly just lurk, but seeing all the happiness, kindness and just a nice place of acceptances like here just... Makes me a little happier and cheers me up.

Its not just here either, RAOA, TwoBestFriendsPlay, RWBY and a few other communities that make me feel like I'm not alone.

I'm saying all this here because your all also the main reason I want to work towards become an artist and writer and try to create something (with the little equipment I have).

I wish I could give all of you hugs in real life for helping someone like me when I'm depressed and scared and don't have anyone I can just hold.

If you made it this far into my little thank you message to the community as a whole and every last individual, thanks for taking some time to read this.

My buddy Tycho Aussie sometimes wears his fursuit at his office, and his boss and coworkers are cool with it :-3 Dear Papabear, 

How are you? And Happy (belated) Valentine's Day. I've been in the furry fandom for at least two years (or three, I haven't been keeping up really). I was a gamer ever since I was 8 years old, and at age 15, I found out that I wanted to have a career in the gaming industry as a game designer. And in 2013, I gained interest in the furry fandom and it has really helped me through many things. But now I seem to have hit a dilemma, should I give up being a furry just so I can have a successful career?

Dear Neo,

Your question no doubt stems from the all-encompassing fear among furries that they will be “found out” and fired for being a furry. Nonsense. If that were true, nobody who was a furry would be able to hold down a job and we would all be living in our parents’ basements. Furries of all sorts have great careers, and you can, too.

To have a career outside the fandom, just adhere to the same rules that everyone else follows while at work. These are obvious things, such as don’t use company computers and company Internet connections to look at furry websites and chat with furries; use them ONLY for business activities. When in the office, follow whatever dress codes are expressed in company policy (this likely means no tail, ears, partial fursuits, etc., except perhaps at a Halloween party). Office time is for the office; keep your personal life at home and you will be fine.

As with any “rule,” there are exceptions. Some offices are totally cool with furries. The best example I know of this has to do with my buddy Tycho Aussie. He has worn his fursuit at work, and the people there love it. Now, this is not typical, but it is possible.

You do not have a dilemma at all. Stay furry!
