My First furry sketches

Furry Reddit - Thu 26 Feb 2015 - 17:02

Hello!

I started practicing drawing fundamentals about a month ago. I'm starting to feel more comfortable with the basics so I decided to try a few headshots of anthro characters. They're just quick thumbnail sketches, so I'll have to go back and finish at least a couple of them but I thought I'd show them off anyway. I've still got a long ways to go, but hopefully by the end of this year I can start to contribute some art to this community!

Just had a talk from Tom Broadbent , the photographer behind the series "At home with the Furries"

Furry Reddit - Thu 26 Feb 2015 - 11:05

Just come out of a talk by him predominately about the project , was wonderful to see a non-fur speak so positively about the fandom and talk about how Furries aren't weird at all and how it was more about him gaining trust (which is understandable given some of the media attention) . The images are really cool too .

And no I didn't go in suit :P , Although I did admit in the Q&A to being a Furry - he gave an interesting response about how he has seen the fandom get younger as he has progressed with the project and how its become less of an odd thing.

Does anthropomorphic Pokemon art count as furry art?

Furry Reddit - Thu 26 Feb 2015 - 07:07

Ever since I've been little (Age 8) I've never, ever been able to draw Pokemon 'normally.' I'd always draw them on two legs. (Unless it was a Magikarp or something....) After I found out that Furries where a thing, I instantly realized I was one (Not saying every person that draws Pokemon is a Furry) and made them look more 'anthro.' So.....if I want it to be, can I identify it as furry art? Or should I just call it normal Pokemon art?
