Campus Newspaper Article on Furries at Texas A&M

Your rating: None Average: 5 (3 votes)

A fairly negative piece that describes furry as a "fetish" and focuses on one particular (fairly extreme) individual and his difficulties with others on campus. Contains interviews with 'experts' who call furry an "alternative way to manifest... sexual preference" and an "attention-grabbing mechanism". Published Thursday in "The Battallion".

Cat cloned at Texas A&M

Your rating: None Average: 5 (2 votes)

This article from CNN documents the birth of the first cloned cat, adding that species to the list of animals that have previously been cloned successfully, which includes sheep, mice, and cattle.

It mentions the possibility of pet owners someday being able to clone beloved pets. If you found the pet with the perfect personality, would you want to produce a younger genetic twin of it every few years?

Flayrah.com Major Upgrade

Your rating: None Average: 5 (1 vote)

I have been threatening this for some time, and I finally did it. Flayrah.com is now running on PostNuke version .0.7. This is a fork of the previous software package we have been using, and there is quite a bit of difference, though a lot of it is not immediately obvious. You'll probably notice the slightly different look, and that the story editors are no longer attributed in story postings--we're still here, and all the stories submitted still have to go through us before they make it to the front page.

There are still quite a few rough edges left to be polished, but as I won't be able to work on them until Monday night, I felt it was important to get this out the door for some user testing. The site will be in flux for probably the next week. Please post any problems you find in the comments section. I'll have a couple more things to point out on Monday!

'They Die Piece by Piece'

If you love animals, you should spend some time considering how they're slaughtered. Not pretty, but if you eat them, you should know exactly what's going on behind the scenes.

They've been gone for quite a while: 'Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3'

Your rating: None Average: 2.5 (6 votes)

Since the last Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Volume 2, a lot has happened, both in the universe of the story, and behind the scenes. In universe, every member of the team except Rocket was "snapped" out of existence, which is okay for furries, since Rocket was the only actual furry member of the team, and they mostly all got better, anyway. In the real world, meanwhile, series director James Gunn was fired from this third world, but he also got better. Anyway, the third movie will finally come out next year, and a trailer has been released.

From a furry perspective, it doesn't get much better than this. Rocket's origins are being explored, the villain is the High Evolutionary whose whole thing is literally making furries, Cosmo will continue to appear after The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special on Disney+, and, oh yeah, that's Lylla the otter.
