Animation: 'The Polar Bears'
Posted by Fred on Wed 26 Mar 2014 - 22:48A 7’21” movie? Well, they don’t say “feature”. And it is produced by Ridley Scott, directed by John Stevenson (Kung Fu Panda), and CGI animated by Animal Logic, the Sydney studio that produced the two Happy Feet movies and Legend of the Guardians: The Guardians of Ga’Hoole. This is supposed to reinvigorate the Coca-Cola Polar Bears, but at least it’s free of the commercial message.
IMDb and YouTube say that this was released on December 31, 2012. ADWEEK says that it was commissioned by the Coca-Cola Company through the Creative Artists Agency (adv’t agency) of Los Angeles for an online commercial. So this has been out for over a year, but I haven’t seen it mentioned on Flayrah yet. Let’s rectify the omission.
Philosophy: Traditional animation vs. CGI animation

'Wonderfilled Anthem' prescribes Oreos for wolves, vampires
Posted by Fred on Sun 19 May 2013 - 19:42Even if it was not anthropomorphic, how could we ignore an animated TV commercial for Oreos from Studio Animal (Barcelona), to a lively tune by Owl City?
Fortunately, the 1’30” Wonderfilled Anthem, directed by Martin Allais, is very anthropomorphic, with the Big Bad (Blue) Wolf, the three pigs, vampires, sharks, baby seals, squids, and more. Cartoon Brew’s Michael Ruocco has the story.
TV commercials: Fat Louis Wines
Posted by Fred on Thu 29 Nov 2012 - 23:59When you think of France, what do you think of? No, no; keep it clean – fine wines!
The Cartoon Brew website reports that a series of six animated TV commercials for Fat Louis Wines featuring Fat Louis, an anthropomorphic French duck, has been made by animation artist/director Andy J. Smith of Newburyport, Massachusetts. The six commercials are collected into a 2’49” compilation, Les Aventures de Fat Louis.
2012 Recommended Anthropomorphics List needs your help
Posted by Fred on Tue 24 Jan 2012 - 19:43There has been a recommendation of this one-minute TV commercial from Hong Kong, for the Mannings Plus pharmacy chain. It was first posted on YouTube on January 3; we presume it first appeared on TV this year.
The Recommended Anthropomorphics List tries to give credit to not only the sponsor of recommended TV commercials, but also the advertising agency that produced the commercial and, if possible, the ad agency’s director of the commercial. In this case, all the information is in Cantonese, which we cannot read.
We have asked the recommender and on YouTube, but we do not have a reply yet. Can anyone help? Are there any credits here for who made the commercial?
