Hello! Trying to stop lurking
Hey everyone, I've been lurking this sub for a while now and you guys all seem like pretty cool people. I randomly got in a CSGO match with a guy who frequents and decided that I might as well try to stop lurking. No idea what my fursona or anything would even be but I guess I'm just saying hi before I go to bed. Sorry for yet another new furry self post!

Dogs Left Behind
Nobrow Press is known in comic circles for introducing the world to new voices and new art. Among the most recent ones is Vacancy, a new full-color one-shot written and illustrated by Jen Lee. Here’s a summary from The AV Club: “Jen Lee… is best known for her animated web-comic Thunderpaw: In The Ashes Of Fire Mountain. [Vacancy is] a post-apocalyptic tale of two dogs attempting to journey home after a mysterious, fiery cataclysmic event sees them abandoned in a car, Lee uses flickering motion and a tensely evocative gray and orange color palette to create an atmosphere of ominous dread. It’s a stunning work of foreboding beauty as the dogs battle gangs, predators, fires, and themselves, en route to a home which they no longer know exists, with the animated features adding to the sense of unease and restlessnes. Lee makes the most of the web format, incorporating the endless canvas and scroll functions to give real scope to the eerie sense of desolation and devastation.” The article also includes an interview with the creator and four preview pages from the comic.

True stories: The reactions of people I tell about Furries, the best way I have found to explain it, and what my parents/friends/coworkers reaction was when I showed up dressed like a giant sparklewolf.
Hey. I'm bored. I thought I'd write something. Something about posts and internet words I see all the time. All. The. Time. There are probably 5 being started right now. They go something like this.
"Blah Blah should tell friends am furry?"
"How will people react?"
"Afraid of screenshot on phone because people will be scared of me being furry?" Etc.
Now then. I have been a furry for a while. Like since Yerf was around, and Anthrocon was still in Philadelphia. I have a picture of fursiuters on my desktop at work. I talk to strangers when I'm at con. I helped convinced my mother to sew handbags for suiters. Long story short, I have talked to a lot of people about being a furry. I thought I would share some of the more amusing reactions (And encourage others the share!) I have gotten talking about, and being, furry. If only to put everyone's mind at ease.
In Reno, at BLFC, talking to a woman who was probably in her mid 70s:
Her: "What the heck is going on here?"
Me: "It's an art convention. Lots of artists and like minded folk getting together to celebrate animal related media and dance and party."
Her:"It's so colorful. If I was younger I would want a suit like that one (I believe it was one of the angel dragons)"
At my job, a construction site in California after I suited all night for Halloween at a downtown event.
Grumpy Super Conservative Coworker: I was at the downtowm market last night and there were some great costumes. My granddaughter was just in love with this giant purple cat thing. There was a whole group of animal people. I thought it was pretty wild.
Me, after bringing up the picture on my phone: "These guys? I'm the one on the right, the purple cat is my friend. She made that suit."
GSCC: "Really? That's you? Why?"
Me: "Theres a big group of people. "furries" is kind of the vernaculation. It's about art and having fun."
GSCC: "Huh. Would have never guessed."
And this post is already long in the tooth. My point is Furries are awesome and people generally don't care about them or think they are cool so don't worry so much!
And share your cool stories!

I kind of felt weird at first, but I have to say I've never felt happier to be part of a group!
This isn't necessarily furry, but I'd like to share something.
I have recently done two things: Watched a video about a 10 year old committing suicide due to bullying, and told my story about talking someone out of suicide in high school. I believe there is not enough being done in educational communities for those who are having suicidal thoughts. More often than not, the thoughts are dismissed as attention grabbers or jokes, and aren't looked into.
I don't want anyone going through a bad time and feeling like they don't have anyone to talk to. I can't handle sitting on the side. I really... I can't. I've had too many friends go through serious clinical depression, and I've had enough with the helplessness they feel.
Listen. I'm not here to preach. I'm not here to beg for attention. But seriously, if anyone here needs someone to talk to please let me know. Send me a message. I'll give you my Skype. I'll talk. I'll talk as long as you need to talk. And I'll listen. I'll listen as long as you need me to listen. It's fine. It's okay.
I know I can't do much about this situation and I know this isn't directly related to furries, but I really needed to get this out to someone. I'm sick of seeing people get hurt because no one will listen.
And if any of you have depression, or have thought suicide in the past or present, please talk to someone. It can be a professional or it can be someone like me. It doesn't matter. Just talk.

Just made an account last night on Furfling and there doesn't seem to be a lot of action on it. Most guys in my area have blank profiles. A few looked promising but there seems to be issues with reading messages, even your own sent messages, if you don't pay for the premium account.
Also, what's with their word filtering? I tried using the work 'husky' in my bio and got something like '*****ky' when I posted it.
Is there something better out there?

Have you furrues ever lucid dreamed?
If yes, what did you dream? Did you meet your fursona or became it? If not, what would you want to dream about?
Answering my own questions: no, unfortunately... What I would like to dream about would be becoming my fursona, flying like Superman and having other super powers because why not? I want to know what you all fuzzbuts dreamed and/or want to dream!! Nice sleep!! : D
