The results are in!

Furry Reddit - Wed 10 Jun 2015 - 18:17

Y'all need to go get some sunshine! :)

I wanna sit down and do a data fit for the post I made earlier, but the trend I see already is that all of us are always on here! :3

You know what that means? We need to post more content! Post the art or music you don't think is good! I'll beat up anyone who trashes is and try to give you a positive review on how to get better! (And someone else who knows what they are talking about will tell you to ignore me and do it the real better way!) Make a text post and get people talking! The more the merrier! RP's are fun, and on or off topic posts draw in people to talk, why not make one? :)

Together we can build a brighter future! Or at least get some more content flowing here! :D

So... what do you all furs think about the Reddit ban on hate subs?

Furry Reddit - Wed 10 Jun 2015 - 18:03

Not wanting to stir up shit or anything, but I've seen a lot of dramas around it, and there's next to zero chance of a decent, rational chat about it in most subs, at least for the moment.

What do y'all think?

Edit for context: A few hours ago, /r/FatPeopleHate (and a few other subreddits) got banned as they encouraged harassing. I can't add much at the moment as I'm at work, sorry!

Sketch/writing prompts! Anyone interested? Give us your version of a short phrase!

Furry Reddit - Wed 10 Jun 2015 - 17:40

TOP EDIT: Flagging NSFW for potential submissions.

Been a while since I've done anything like this, and while it's fun to give myself a little sentence and try to draw it, I figured it'd be even more fun to challenge my fellow furs to do some too!

Here are the rules: Pick a phrase from the list (or that other people submit) and write a very short story or do a sketch representing it. I could possibly do quick art prizes for ones I find exceptionally good! Here are the themes/prompts/phrases I have so far -

  • "I" became "we"
  • These aren't my clothes
  • A few too many drinks
  • Prey becomes the predator
  • Too soon
  • Too late
  • "We" became "I"
  • Your favorite furry
  • I'm not showing off, I'm just better
  • Small, adorable critters
  • accidentally spiders
  • Everyone loves video games!

Make them as silly or serious as you want! This is a very relaxed, creativity-based thing, I guess you could call it a contest if people want me to do prize sketches.

Ensnared 3

Furry Reddit - Wed 10 Jun 2015 - 13:14

Oh hello there. Allow me to welcome you into our third edition of ensnared, your weekly fix of mistruth and lies, published by the publishing arm of the furluminati happy fun /r/furry synergy and apocalypse presentation society. As your ever humble editor, I would like to thank you for your positive response to the publication so far. However, I couldn't do this alone. I believe you have already met our eager health, economics and science correspondent, but allow me to start off this issue by introducing all the good folks (and indescribably evil and twisted folks) who make Ensnared tick. They are in no particular order (other than who I like the most) :

  • Amon Botolf, cheif editor

  • Joe "Joe" Joeson, our political correspondent, and by far the best deer this side of the Atlantic (when we say that we mean our main office for tax purposes, which is in the artic. Anyone saying its just a tent, and everyone else works in the other office, shame on you)

  • John miles, science & health and economics (he took over that role after the previous incumbent became a communist, and moved to the USSR, presumably though some sort of time machine

  • Ellen Ballettime, business and Eldrich magic.

  • Dr M.T liar, our resident psychological reporter and education correspondent

  • ELI!!!, our oft troubled rabbit who also acts as technological correspondent

  • sparkleshark powerbark, our culture and entertainment correspondent (she also is the only one who has the keys to the attic. We do not know what she keeps in their)

In addition to this main lineup, we have also got 'volunteers' from the local community, who agreed to help after we tied them up in the basement and force fed them cookies because they love our paper.

  • the cowardly fox a random foxcoon that defintley isn't a fugitive, PR and cheif of secret police

  • Ringgar, HR and snuggle synergistics

  • cyanfootedferret, head of values and director of better

  • Phelix, our resident receptionist and helicopter hygenist.

  • intro introduction, cheif of swagtastic masks and pixel artz

  • nonfreethinkingcomic, thought crime detection and suppression, also leader of the furry inquisition

  • noahgoldfox, chief of having a misleading name, and putting latex suits on everything

  • scruffy, the janitor and table construction specialist

  • Fisk Velox, our intern who needed to lie low for a while. He should be gone once he has singlehandedly killed every member of the government gained enough experience working in media.

All these workers will receive the industry standard of pay: 15 reddit silver per year (with exclusion of cyan footed ferret, who will receive a CD containing 2 hours of incoherent mumbling interspersed with screaming)

And now the rambling preamble Is complete, we at last give you the disclaimer:

warning: nothing in this post is true. it is full of half remembered events and blatant lies. we apologise if anything in this turns out to be any way correct .

wagon stolen by inept criminals

A shocking crime has emerged! It seems a group of furs, led by the infamous trickster and counter revolutionary trotskyist toona66666666, stole the wagon belonging to the /r/furry ukulele band and window repair company. Once on this 'bandwagon' they proceeded to ask random people to sak them questions, as well as asking each other. This is despite a perfectly serviceable bus service, /r/furryAMA being available for all your butt Lego capacity needs. This editor humbly urges you to use it, or face removal of your eyelids and spleen with a rusting butter knife mild disappointment from your fellow furs.

zootopia picture released

as ya probably saw, it seems Disney has decided to grace our most humble selves with a look at the upcoming feature length non interactive video game zootopia, which is a fox tripping up a bunny. This is obviously a reference to racism and sexism, the smile on the foxes face showing that it is OK. This is obviously a message from THE ESTABLISHMENT, who want to suppress us all! So I say rise up! Defeat the forces of evil, before they subject us to tyranny - SpS power-bark

FALLOUT 4! EHMAHGAWD!!!

whoa! Fallout 4! It's been announced! Recently! In a trailer! Released by bethesdasoft Montreal! For those that don't know its a video game! It will be set in 1920's Alaska! It's gonna be awesome! - ELI!!

We thank you for reading this, and leave you with our existential question of the week: what colour are my underpants?

Discussion: What are the stereotypical personality traits of different animals?

Furry Reddit - Wed 10 Jun 2015 - 12:56

Yeah, we all know foxes and otters are sluts!

What stereotypes do you hold about certain animals? What stereotypes do other people hold about your species?

Is there any truth to these stereotypes? :D

At 23 He Prefers Older Men ... Is That So Wrong?

Ask Papabear - Wed 10 Jun 2015 - 12:48
Hi Papabear,

I am 23 year old bisexual man. Ever since I was 13 I was attracted to older men. My very first porno I found was of two hairy men, and since then that's what I primarily like to look at. I would fantasize about having a mature man (primarily in his 40's or older) as a lover. Believe me I have no idea where it stems from. I have grown up in a decent home with a wonderful family, and yet I feel weird because I am the only person I know who would rather be with older men.

Recently I have been getting into dating apps in order to meet people, and as a result I met a nice older man who lives in my hometown. At first I was nervous about meeting him, but it turned out to be a wonderful time for both of us. We couldn't risk going out so we would meet at his place to hook up whenever I could get free time.

Well a few days ago my parents found out I was dating him. They were mortified that I was giving myself away to an older man and that I shouldn't do it. Now I admit I rushed into having sex without really thinking. I guess I got so excited to finally meet my type of guy that I got carried away. As a result we stopped seeing each other.

Now my question is, is it really wrong for me to date older men? As wrong as it might seem to other people, it doesn't change how I feel, but honestly I'm not sure if it is just a sexual fantasy or something more.

Thanks for taking the time to read this

Scaley (age 23)

* * *

Dear Scaley,

Wrong? Let’s try putting it this way: if most people like chocolate ice cream but a few prefer strawberry, are they wrong for liking a different flavor? It’s the same thing here: it’s just a matter of preference. Some people like younger partners, some the same age, and some older. In our youth-worshipping culture, the tendency is for many people to like young people. They tend to have more energy (including in bed, but not always) and have the physical attributes that people are supposed to desire (smooth skin, full head of hair, and don’t talk about their operations LOL...). But there’s a lot to be said for older guys, too. In fact, in this bear’s opinion, a lot more. Older men have been around the block and have more experience, which generally means they have more to talk about that’s interesting (and have more skill in the bedroom). They tend to be more financially stable and have better jobs (these are generalizations, of course). And for many young gay men, older guys can represent stability, a father figure (especially appealing for those who might have lacked one in their lives), and can be a mentor, which has a tremendous calming effect in our confusing world.

You and I actually share the preference for older guys (which might sound funny to you coming from a 49-year-old bear, but I still prefer men in their 40s and upwards, if that’s not TMI—for one thing, they can grow beards better LOL, kidding).

To the point: no, it’s not wrong for you. That’s what you like, and that’s fine. At 23, you are old enough to decide for yourself. I hope, actually, it isn’t too late for you to get back together with this guy you met. Sounds like you had a great time together and he’s a nice guy. So what’s so wrong about that? And, anyway, why are you worried about what your parents are saying? You’re 23 years old! Are you still living with them? Time to get your life in gear, cut the apron strings, and live your life as you see fit!

Questions: why couldn’t you “risk going out”? Is he closeted? Also, you state you are bisexual. Are you sure? You seem pretty obsessed with men. Do you still feel attracted to women? As a bisexual, you certainly can be monogamous to a man (or woman) if you choose and be perfectly fine, but you should make sure what you really want in a partner and that your partner understands who you are before taking a relationship to the next level. These are things to consider, as well as—if you get really serious—the issue of what happens in later life when your older mate starts having health issues and, probably, will pass away before you do.

Perhaps you rushed in a little fast, but not necessarily. Sometimes the sparks fly quickly and we end up finding someone great for us sooner than expected.

Whatever your decision, make it your decision and not your parents’ decision.

Good luck!

Papabear
