I guess there is a downside to this fandom
I hid my furry side for 15 years out of shame and out of a fear of being ostracized - and now I regret having embraced it.
Yes, going to a convention and being surrounded by people in fursuits is fun. Yes, having furry friends is great. Yes, it's a wonderful community full of loving people, and the hugs are great.
The problem is you can't share that with anyone.
I ran into an old friend of mine - a turbo nerd, a 3D artist who's into anime, warhammer 40k and video games. He tells me: "Hey, maybe I'll see you at [convention-happening-in-a-couple-months]"
My response: "Oh yeah, but I'll be wearing my costume."
"What's your costume?"
I show him a picture of my character, which is now my phone background: http://i.imgur.com/OwlH1T9.jpg
disbelieving stare "Eww, you're going as a furry??" (strongly implied: what the fuck is wrong with you?)
This bothers the hell out of me. Why is it that this one nerd hobby is judged to be the one that's socially equivalent to having leprosy? I can dress up as an anime or comic-book character and get high fives, but dressing up as a cute looking cuddly animal crosses the line?
What's the point of having something that you enjoy if you can't share it with your friends? Why do I have to keep this a secret and exercise extreme caution when telling people?

Friday fuzzbutt roll call!
How's everyfur doing this glorious Friday morning? Last night was my night off and I mainly spent it playing Marvel Heroes. Got my Vision up to 52 so far! Whoooo! For later today the mate and I are going to watch Chappie, then it's back to work tonight. I only have to last 2 nights and then I have Sunday off, so that's something!
What're you up to today? Anything exciting, noteworthy, or just plain awesome you'd like to announce? :3

Fuzzy Bunny's guide to you know what.
I'm in the process of making my first fursona and wanted to get some input and suggestions from you guys.
I bought some pink sharpies and drew my tetradextrous coyote :D No he's not smoking, though he usually is.
What do you guys think of this? It's a chart categorizing a lot of furry artists into real life artstyles.
Zoophobia (not zootopia)
There is a web comic called Zoophobia and I was wondering you guys/gals opinion on it.

9 Lives Again
“Caught in a mad scientist’s experiment gone wrong, an ordinary house cat named Scratch gains the extraordinary ability to summon any of his nine lives to get out of a fix.” That’s the story behind Scratch 9, a well-known comic book series for young readers created by writer Rob M. Worley. Now Hermes Press have released the latest adventures of Scratch as a 176-page full-color graphic novel, Scratch 9: Cat of Nine Worlds. It’s illustrated by Joshua Buchanan and features a cover by Herobear creator Mike Kunkel. Find out more at the Scratch 9 web site and look for the book on shelves this month.
