I have a few questions!

Furry Reddit - Thu 2 Jul 2015 - 07:10
  1. How long have you been in the fandom?
  2. How long have you been subscribed to this subreddit?
  3. Have you told your family/friends your furry?
  4. Why did you become furry?
  5. Have you enjoyed being a furry?

EDIT: you dont have to answer any question that make you feel uncom-fur-table :P

Evolution

Get your jigging boots on Furballd listeners, cause this episode we’re mining through old content for topics! After sifting through the audio goodness, chopping it down into fine powder and cramming it forcefully and unforgivably into our state-of-the-art “Furballd-a-tron,” we have made a list of all the old topics we talked about in Furballds past and decided that Aliens would get the re-do this time around.

We could have just looked through the archive for ideas instead of that long and tedious process, but we have a sweatshop for a reason and we’ll be damned if we’re not putting those interstellar oompa-loompas to good use. It’s either work or let them fend for themselves in the wild!

Wait, what was I on about again? OH! Right, enjoy the episode!

If you have questions, comments or want to give an oompa-loompa a less than sub-standard home, then send your e-mails to furballdletters@gmail.com.

Bye for now, but not forever.

This week’s song is “The Guru” by The OC Jazz Collective.  You can find the song on OCRemix here.

Do these commission prices seem fair?

Furry Reddit - Thu 2 Jul 2015 - 03:33

Starting up commissions again, I want to be sure these are both worth my time, and worth what people pay for! Do these seem fair to both myself and my commissioner?

When Young Animals Learn to Talk

In-Fur-Nation - Thu 2 Jul 2015 - 01:45

According to our friends at CartoonBrew, in addition to the four new animated TV series announced recently by Netflix (and discussed here as well), the network has added an additional three new animated shows that are squarely aimed at the preschool set. One of them, at very least, is especially anthropomorphic: “Arriving worldwide in 2016 exclusively on Netflix is the Jim Henson Company’s Word Party. Produced through Henson’s digital puppetry studio, Word Party’s 11-minute episodes follow the adventures of four baby animals, whose singing and dancing aims to help build the vocabulary skills of its preschool viewers. Jim Henson Creature Shop’s digital puppetry innovation ‘allows puppeteers to perform digitally animated characters in real-time, enabling the animation to be more lifelike and spontaneous.'” Watch for it next year.

You guys really need to hear this...

Furry Reddit - Wed 1 Jul 2015 - 22:28

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart...thank you. I do my best on this sub to bring smiles to everyone's faces, brighten up days, inspire, and enlighten other furs. I want you guys to be happy whenever possible, because I know the world around us is a cesspool of negativity. So I always want to do my best for you guys, whether its connecting fur to fur to make new friends, business partnerships, or hobbies.

However, I recently made a thread, telling you all that all of us are worth something to this fandom. Many of you listened, some of you resisted, but one of you gilded my post. It was my first reddit gold, something I NEVER thought I'd end up seeing. It was an amazing surprise.

Ultimately, I came here with the mission to make you all as happy as I can. Last night, I left with all the smiles. I don't know who you are that did it, but thank you. And I want to extend that thank you to all of you here on /r/furry. I want to even extend that thank you to the entire fandom. You're all so awesome. I really look forward to bringing more smiles to you guys!

7-1-15 Furfunding Highlights

FurStarter - Wed 1 Jul 2015 - 20:21

catroyalbarIllustration from Cats Royale and Dogs Royale card decks, now on Kickstarter.

wolfchildOne of my private retreats from the bad projects and crude jokes that periodically flood Indiegogo and Kickstarter is the tumblr feed, Your Kickstarter Sucks. It is sadly not possible to do anything about Bad Kickstarters, except point on them and laugh. Or maybe cry. Thankfully, there’s a website that does both of these things.

I’m not sure I consistently agree with all their submissions—one of the little joys of crowdfunding is soaking your feet in a big vat of style over substance, and the YKS gang loves to deflate hipster-driven design fluff. The dark secret Kickstarter doesn’t want you to know is that if they stop hosting 30 minimalist wallet campaigns a week, the entire manufacturing economy of China collapses, resulting in worldwide chaos. We need fluff.

Anyway, check ’em out, die a little inside. It’s fun. And I’m not suggesting that “Maan Singh: The Wolf-Child” should be on YKS, but they need to have words with their art director.

Reviews this week: Comic fun with all-ages post-apocalypse adventure, The Road North and fursuit/zombie horror comedy, Dawn of the Furries.

Icon from picture, "Poetic Muse" by Luthien Nightwolf What’s Corbeau Backing This Week?
Certain dogs are still discovering new career opportunities, and are keeping their credit cards in their minimalist wallets. However, if we were backing a project, we would totally back White Wolf’s new tabletop game, “Beast: The Primordial.” I grew up on White Wolf’s “X: The Y” game series, and probably White Wolfed my way out of a doctorate back in college, so it’s neat to see the company releasing a new World of Darkness game :)
