How Do I Get Exposure as a Furry Artist?
Hey. I'm something of an artist and I am looking for some advice from people who've been where I am now.
Art that I work very hard on seems to get very little attention. Posts get very few views and favourites and watches are even rarer. It feels like sending out a text and getting no reply.
I've tried giving back to the community, i.e. freebies, commenting around, etc, but it really doesn't help.
Here are some examples of things I draw : http://imgur.com/a/vLU79
All advice is appreciated! c:

.. And I thought it was just a phase
But god damnit, you guys. Zootopia turned me back into a furfag.
So, about 3 or 4 years ago, I had discovered the fandom through a friend. I was mostly in it for the yiff, because jesus christ is that shit heavenly. But I was still active in the community, had a fursona and all that stuff. I sort of cut that all out a year or two later. Mainly because of this one group I was in, they made fun of me at any given moment because I considered myself a furry. I still looked at yiff, and still am (not that that's important or anything). But ever since all this hype for the new Zootopia movie. God damnit you people. I'm a furfag again. (Also, now I've got the whole, "I wish furries were real" mentality again.) :p
Looks like I'll be thinking of a new 'sona. Especially since my first one felt way too similar to that one guy off of bed fellows. I think his name was Sheen? (Plus, it'd be nice to have a Fox now, rather than a cat.) Anybody got any advice with coming up with a new fursona? :p
But yeah, glad to back in this community again!

Hey there! I'm new to Reddit, this will be my introductory post.
Arf hey everyfur! I'm a blue eyed blue furred Wusky who loves mixing music and modifying his car. I can be quite energetic at times. I love meeting new people and making friends. I'm pretty easy going, I like talking about anything really. Especially if its about one of my interests. My good friend /u/spicchicken987 convinced me to join reddit.

A quick thanks to you fuzzbutts :)
There have been two really consistent things in my life: being a furry and struggling with depression. By the most generous definition, I've been a furry since I was obsessed with Robin Hood as a five year-old, but I never engaged the community until a couple years ago. Last June, I went to my first con and decided I wanted to finally make a fursona. I've spent the last half year fine-tuning the backstory for my 'sona, and it has made such a difference in my life. Just the act of starting and completing something has had a tremendous impact on my self-confidence. Also, developing an "ideal self" has given me tangible goals to shoot for in things like my physical fitness and the hobbies I want to cultivate.
The other thing I've been doing in the last seven months is seeking professional medical help for my depression. I started taking two anti-depressants, and it has made a world of difference in my ability to manage daily tasks that used to overwhelm me like getting dressed and going to work.
I just want to say thank you to this community for being so creative, so encouraging, and so awesome. Even though I mostly just lurk, I feel like I'm a part of something, and belonging is such a great feeling. I also want to advocate for seeking help. I recommend seeing a professional first, but even just talking to someone can be helpful. Your experience is real and valid. I'm here to talk if you need someone to just listen.
Thanks for reading my super sappy post :) As a bonus, here is my fursona, Church (drawn by NecroTiger): http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17870322/
