It's because of posts like this...

Im new to the fandom. I spent months on reddit and other sites learning about the furry fandom, and i came to the conclusion that the furry fandom is rather okay.

Sure, there are various kinks and other taboo stuff, but they are the minority, and you only hear about them because they are the loudest.....right?

I don't know anymore..... am i fooling myself? Is someone fooling me?

What hurts me and scares me even more is that there is no furry defending the fandom in the post above. On the contrary, they are admiting that the fandom IS driven by sex.

I know that this probably isn't the case.... but i don't know what to think of the fandom now.....on one side i hear how they are just the loud minority, and on the other i hear that it's all true...

Im confused, angry and sad.

A lot of the time i try to convince myself that it's not true, but then i go on r/furry and see posts of dragon dildo's.

I understand that she was only in the fandom for two years, some have been in the fandom for 17 to 30 years, even more.

Maybe she just saw the loudest ones. Maybe that's what happens to all new furries.

They see the absolute worst. Some bail, while others dig deeper and find something else.

You can downvote me to the pits of Tartarus for all i care, i just want to talk with someone.

News out of the UK: Mark Hall, one half of the production team Cosgrove/Hall, passed away from cancer this week at the age of 75. From 1971 until their retirement in 2000, Mark Hall (the quiet business-oriented one) and his partner Brian Cosgrove (the crazy artistic one) created numerous award-winning, world-famous, and financially successful animated programs and productions. Chief among them: Danger Mouse, the super-hero/super-spy spoof that’s still in repeats around the world. The pair were also well-known for The Wind in the Willows, a stop-motion animated series based on the books and stories of Kenneth Grahame. Furry fans might also want to seek out the company’s adaptation of Gerald Durrell’s fantasy novel The Talking Parcel from 1978. The Guardian UK has an obituary for Mr. Hall up on line, which discusses many of the shows that Cosgrove/Hall produced.

A bevy of new characters are being announced for Soul Calibur 5, and one of them has caught our eyes. The usual lizard man character has made an appearance, this time bearing the name "Aeon" and coming equipped with wings and fire breath.

(I know this is a new account, but I wasn't about to start posting furry stuff under my main. If you have any concerns, PM me and I'll give you my main username.)

Anyway. I need some new things to draw, so I'm willing to draw some free art for Reddit. If you want me to draw you a picture, reply with a ref of what you want drawn. Please keep in mind though, it might take awhile, depending on how fast this thread moves.

[edit] Okay, I'll start on these tonight! Keep in mind they will probably be colored sketches, so don't get your hopes up for something epic. Also, if you don't have a colored ref it'd be a HUGE help if you could just whip one up. I've got some blank refsheets in my gallery if you'd like to use those, they help a ton. (Even just dotting in some colors and markings where they are is a big help.)

This is our second-most popular topic so far, with a total of seven e-mails! We read e-mails from people losing their boyfriends, losing their loved ones, losing their grip on reality…Kyo gets his rant on more than once, and some stories are shared by all involved! It’s also one of our longest episodes, running just under 1h40m, but this is a weighty topic that deserves the attention. This one is a little hard on the heart-strings, but we’re glad you know you can come to us when you need someone to talk to. Spread the word!

Next week’s topic is a little more light-hearted, and it’s about something we all want to do: making friends! Whether you’ve had limited success in your area in meeting people or you’re just a bit socially awkward when you’re around people you don’t know, we want to hear from you and help you to make those connections that make life worthwhile!

Finally, Jeddar is pretty sure that he has some idea of what’s been going on with the iTunes feed, so keep your digits crossed; hopefully we’ve got it sorted out this time!
