Fursuit maker review site?
So after posting this: http://www.reddit.com/r/furry/comments/1pkvxm/website_idea_esty_but_just_furries/
It seams that there is some need for a site that offers a place for people to leave reviews and ratings for fursuit makers?
I have heard of stories where people have been ripped off buy $1000s and where the maker takes the money and runs off.
It could be a good way for people to find fursuit makers as well as be able to trust them with their money.
The way such a site would work is that fursuit makers would apply to be on the site, they can send a load of photos of their work that would be featured on the site in a "gallery" as well as a description of their service and links to their site/FA etc.
Users would be able to leave reviews and rate the service.
Obviously there are idiots out there who find it funny to be stupid and leave false reviews as well as people who live false reviews to maybe boost fursuit maker's reviews on the site.
There are a few ways to prevent this like having a minimum word count, require the user to link to their FA with images of their suit etc.
Looking to see if this is a thing that people want and would use. Would be free (like all my sites) to use and would be supported by ads on the site.
If you could leave a comment and tell me more about what you are wanting as a buyer/fursuit maker that would help us out a lot.
Jack,

Happy Halloween, tonight we bring you a bit of flash fiction to celebrate the holiday. This is more of a mood piece than a story-driven plot, but I really like how it came out. It takes a couple of (non-mystical) memories I have from October nights and turned into a sweet love letter to Autumn and Halloween.

Night In The Woods
A black cat with a baseball bat explores a strange world that just might be about to end…
Three friends have told me about the awesomeness of this particular project, and as I’m writing this it’s doubled its goal of $50,000 in just three days. So, clearly, Night in The Woods is the fur-friendly kickstarter of the week.
NITW is a 2D, sandboxy exploration-adventure game centered on Mae, a cat who’s returned home to a life of amiable, aimless anger in the dying mining town of Possum Springs, the town she grew up in. Things have changed. Things have remained the same. People have moved on, and just maybe Mae hasn’t. It’s a game about the end of the world, but if that’s the sleepy world of Possum Springs, Mae’s slacker existence, or the literal world, it’s anybody’s guess.
The animation style is simplistic, cutouts on a 2D background, but the world is complex, with a town to explore, a full cast of characters, a world that’s creepy and rich, itself just a bit strange around the edges (I’m reminded of the bizaare “anytown but thank god not MY town” of Welcome to Night Vale–in fact, the animator for the game designed Night Vale’s logo) with stranger things in the woods, and a dreamlike astral plane that Mae finds herself opening up to as the story develops.
This looks like animator Scott Benson‘s first video game, and it’s off to a tremendous start. You can see some of his animation on his website. Producer/developer Alec Holowka has a somewhat larger VG portfolio, including another dreamlike 2D game, Paper Moon. Tim Burton, we’re waiting for you to produce the movie. Get on it.
(x-post from iosgaming)After 9 years working in retail, my girlfriend reminded me not to quit on my dream...
Posting here by suggestion of user RandomPotato. He/she said you guys/gals would appreciate things with cute foxes!
I just finished my first game. I'm hoping this is kind of my little kickstarter.
A while back I was thinking about starting a kickstarter with hopes of gaining enough funds to make a game. The only thing is...although I really really wanted to make one, I had never done it before. And I know it would be hard for you to put your trust into someone who had little experience with programming. I decided that instead of a kickstarter, I was going to just learn the ropes of programming and put my best efforts into making a small game. I already had a lot of experience with the visual stuff, so just bought a few books on programming and buried myself in them for a couple of months(allowing myself reddit breaks when necessary, of course). Throughout this period my girlfriend was extremely supportive and believed in me enough to let me use some of our savings so I could get a mac, an ipod, an apple license, as well as buy all of the books needed to learn the basics. Not spending a lot of time together was rough, but she was extremely understanding and showed confidence in me that, honestly, even I didn't have. It was enough to carry me through and the result was...
Ninjafox.
It's a small game. Simple enough that most people can enjoy it. And hopefully interesting enough to make it worthwhile for you to take a peek. I really want to know what you think. If you can't buy it, I'll take any suggestions you can give me as far as the visuals go. In a way I hope this can kind of be my little kickstarter. If this sells well... I have a notebook filled with very interesting ideas(...at least I think they are!!) and I would love to bring those to life! (**Among those is a more in-depth version of Ninjafox, if you think it's worth pursuing)
It's only 99 cents(The whole game, old school, no DLC).
Here are a few codes to download it for free: 7K7479947L46 47NRKNR9YTJP T4L63M6ATY93 4RLMLXRLT4E4 LLHYFMY7MNPJ
So if you decide to grab a shuriken and join me, I will be extremely grateful. Thank you for your time! If you have any questions, I'll be here checking in on reddit for the rest of the day.
EDIT: Thanks for the support! Reddit has shown the most support for NinjaFox out of every community I've been to. It really means a lot...you have no idea! I hope this goes well I can continue making fun and colorful games. I'll continue answering questions and look forward to feedback. I'll answer to every single post. Thanks again!
EDIT2: Going to bed(been up since 6am), tried to stay awake as long as I could. I will be back early tomorrow morning to reply to any questions, comments, suggestions, etc.! Thanks again. I honestly haven't felt this much support ever.
EDIT3: And back!
EDIT4: At the suggestion of WelfareTaco, I guess I now have a twitter and Facebook = ). Both under username Sanfiel De Leon.

Website idea: Esty but just furries?
Hi guys.
After a brainstorm with a friend the other day we found that there is a possible need for a site like Esty but for Furries.
For those who don't know Esty allows people to create "shops" and sell their items from it. We want to offer the same thing (but for free, so no 3.5% charge on what you sell) but on a site that is just for furries.
This means that when someone wants something, like a "furry tail" they can go on the site and search for one that suits them. But unlike Esty this site will show them what they want and not 1000 other products that are unrelated.
The site would also be designed around the needs of the fandom so the product categories would be very specific like "Fursuit>Head" and "Fursuit>Full suit" as well as other things that are sold within the fandom. But there would also be other categories so users can still sell none furry related items on their shops.
Like I said the site would be free, there would be ads on the site but furry related just like we already run on FurStre.am (another furry site I created).
You can see a mockup of the site here> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11949788/ The site is live and working, kinda. There are a lot of bugs in it atm. We are using a clone script that needs a lot of work done to it. Ill post a link to it soon.
I would love to gauge and see how many of you out there would like such a website created and used. If you could comment bellow or on FA that would be great. Sharing this around would help me out a lot to.
Thanks!
Jack,
EDIT1 - You can view the site here > http://jacktail.no-ip.org/ Note that it is rather buggy and is being worked on.
