I used to think that furries were disgusting. I thought that all of them got off to inappropriate drawings of animal humanoids and I thought that was gross. I considered anyone who was a furry to be a special snowflake misanthropist.

Today I talked to an open furry for hours. He had given me a link to this YouTube video when trying to bring up a discussion about music with me (he couldn't however; he didn't know I was deaf before we had this conversation). I had looked at the picture on the video. I asked if it was a horse. He told me it was a skunk and badger hybrid. I had to ask him why it wasn't drawn in a sexually suggestive way.

This was when I realized that furry-ness (what do you guys call it?) is not a fetish. We had talked about it and he said they are fursonas, which I guessed were furry personas. He said he had his own. He had a wolf for a fursona. He asked me, "If you were an animal, which one would you be?" I told him I'd be a bunny rabbit. He said if I wanted to make a fursona, I should draw one, and make it however I like. With any colour or hair or clothes...

I decided to try and draw one on Paint.NET (please don't laugh) but it is nothing like a furry's drawing. I had not drawn one before and I was using only a mouse. And I didn't realized how small it was until I zoomed out! I showed him it and he liked it, even though it has a mullet and looks evil. He had explained to me that furries don't always wank to nude pictures of anthromorphic animals and that many furries enjoy drawing those pictures and so on. I was okay with it then. I thought it was cool but I wouldn't draw more. But that's because I'm horrible at it.

So, I'm sorry for being a closed-minded person before. I take all the things I've thought about you guys prior to this back.
