I've been a furry for 6 years; and in all that time; I have mostly been in the closet about it; and this has made me semi bi-polar... In RL, I am asexual, and online I am gay.

My university had a carnival thing yesterday; and at that was a girl in a partial fursuit.

Once I saw this; my brain crashed to a halt; as I began seriously questioning whether I was still fit to be part of this fandom.... Help?

With a flip of his tail and a wave of his gloved paw, Furry Club President Matthew Geddes called the first meeting of his anthropomorphic friends to order on Feb. 27.

Geddes, who goes by his Furry alias Hems during the meetings, presided over the meeting of artists, musicians and self-described nerds. The band of members, known as Furries, gather weekly to discuss their passion — a love of all things, well, furry.

Club members said each Furry has an original character persona — an anthropomorphic alter ego that is personally designed and interpreted through elaborate and expensive Furry suits.

Not every Furry has a suit however. The cost for a full body costume can come in at a staggering $1,000 to $3,000, so during the recent meeting club officers wore only fluffy tails, and in some cases, collars.

“Nobody is going to ruin their fur suit,” music major Alex Nobles, 20, known by his furry name Ace said.

More than anything, the group indulges in creating and displaying their own art and ideas. Rather than focus on comic book or video game art, Furries like to create new identities through costumes.

Along with being imaginative, group members are also adept designers, administrators and organizers.

“With Furries, we’re all fans of ourselves,” Geddes said. “And fans of anthropomorphic art.”

In addition to weekly meetings on campus, members attend an array of Furry events and conventions every year, Furry Club officer Justin Cha said. Furries also host fundraisers to assist animal shelters, museums and children’s hospitals, members said.

Furry Club adviser Marcella Norling, a religious studies professor, said she didn’t know much about Furries when she agreed to assist the group, but has already learned a great deal about the pastime.

“I have nerd in my DNA,” Norling said.

As a veteran of Renaissance fairs, she said she understands what it is to break off the shackles of the ordinary by participating in what some may consider an alternate reality.

When asked how she came to be the club’s adviser, Norling said she found Geddes at a booth during Club Rush and asked his name, what his club was about and who its adviser was.

They didn’t have one. So she took on the position and she said they are a fun and lively bunch.

“Just wait until the third and fourth meeting,” she said. “It’ll really be something.”

Club members hope to raise awareness of ongoing meetings throughout Southern California and expect to have their own events on campus.

The club meets on Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the Social Science building.

Sex and pregnancy are somewhat linked, but Americans seems to have a problem with sex.

• In Footrot Flats (New Zealand), Dog and Jess have an off-screen love scene with implied sex.

• Pom Poko (Japan) (and I'm not talking about scrotums). Clearly, an implied sex scene.

• In Fantastic Mr. Fox (American), Mrs. Fox proclaims that she is pregnant.

• In Hotel Transylvania (American), Wanda (Werewolf) is pregnant.

What's up with that? There was even a time (I Love Lucy) that you couldn't be pregnant on TV, because that implied you had sex. The problem might even go back to Virgin Mary. You know, being pregnant without having sex.

Hey guys,

I'm kind of new to the whole fursuit thing but I wanted to try it out and found someone selling one near me.

I come from more of the /r/transformation side of things and not the /r/furry side of things but I don't want to sound inexperienced to the really nice seller.

I bought the suit from her today, and she asked me if I wanted the art of her too, which is on her FurAffinity profile. In general, what does that mean? Is it just stuff to get into the fursona? Am I supposed to put it on my profile? I jumped headfirst into this and I don't know where I'm supposed to go from here...

Also, is it frowned upon to be a shapeshifter, with the same personality in all your different suits? Generally I see people with more suits have different personalities for all of them. I'm still not sure what I want the lore to be around my getups.

You’ve probably heard that the US women’s bobsled duo picked up a well-deserved silver medal in Sochi, but did you know who won the gold at the #XYZolympics? Let’s recap.

After we announced our official sponsorship of the New Zealand bobsled team, we wagered a friendly (yet possibly deadly) #XYZolympics bobsled bet against Name.com. They were represented by their Community Evangelist, Jared Ewy, while the big man himself, Daniel Negari, put his life on the line to compete on behalf of .xyz. Both parties quickly jumped into physical training, wardrobe selection, and some good ol’ fashion social media trash talking.

As promised, the camera crew followed the newly-minted bobsled athletes to Whistler, closely documenting the lead-up to the big race. A pre-race sneakpeak shows the two as they learned all the “worst case scenarios,” tips to avoid your underwear melting to your body (hint: roll, don’t slide), and the exciting reveal of the awesome bobsled with .xyz freshly painted across the nose.

Now for the bet.

As if catapulting down an icy course at 85 mph in a metal vessel wasn’t enough, Daniel and Jared added a little something more to increase the pressure — after all, they’re here to represent their brands.

If Jared wins, Daniel must “enthusiastically, to the point of harassment, talk about Name.com and how great it is,” all while wearing a bobsled helmet.

Upon Daniel’s triumph (naturally, as the domain extension for every website, everywhere), Jared must don the full-body .xyz. That meant, Jared must cover himself head-to-toe in .xyz stickers, for one whole day: the full-body .xyz.

They shook on it.

I'm just curious as to how many of you have, since you first joined the fandom, changed your views on your own sexuality. For example, I used to be exclusively straight, but now I'm far more willing to experiment more with the same gender. What is it that you think made you alter your orientation?
