New to this, wondering where I can commission a steam profile picture

Furry Reddit - Tue 15 Jul 2014 - 03:29

Hey all,

I've just recently gotten back into all of this, and I was wondering where I might look for someone willing to comission a 500x500 drawing of my fursona for me, for the purpose of a steam profile picture.

I don't know anyone who can draw furry stuff, and I don't know where to ask on the internet.

Thanks.

Potentially new furry here...

Furry Reddit - Mon 14 Jul 2014 - 21:12

So I got bored as crap and decided to research the furry community. As you may be well aware, the majority of the internet portrays your community as odd sexual deviants; Weirdos who, at all costs, should be avoided because all you think about is having sex with adorable little kittens (how disturbing)...However, it is my understanding that this is not so. Lemme know if I hit the nail on the head here, and correct me if I'm wrong...

Furries are just like any other roleplaying genre. The only difference is, unlike most RP communities, you are not limited to a specific character set or storyline (ie. Anime, Harry Potter, etc). I've found that there is MUCH more freedom for creativity in the furry community, which is the whole reason RP is fun in the first place. Whether you walk on 2 legs or 4, have feathers or fur, have brown fur or even pink, you are accepted as a furry so long as you are at least PART of an animal of some sort.

And because it's so easy to create a "fursona" (I'd never even heard of that before an hour ago) that is uniquely yours, I can see why people get so attached. We are all individual human beings. We have personalities, traits and preferences specific to us. You fursona is an extention of who you are as a person. For instance, I imagine a wolf being very quiet, observant and wise. Whereas a puppy might be bubbly, playful and sorta ditsy.

I RPed a lot in High School (way back when MySpace was still hip), and I loved it. All my friends got involved, and it was one of those things where we could show off who we were and how we think and what we're in to.

So I say ALL that to ask you this...How the HELL do I decide what animal I should be? >:|

Seriously! How do you do it?! I know it should reflect your personality, sorta. I was thinking a squirrel, but I'm not that fidgety. Maybe a bunny?...Here's some facts about me:

  • I'm pretty ditsy
  • I'm very loyal to my friends and kind to others in general
  • I get VERY defensive and tend to make excuses
  • I'm pretty lazy in general
  • I don't often try new things
  • I'm scared of bugs...and death
  • I like to sing and draw and I'm a pretty good writer, too.
  • I wish I was more outgoing and able to express myself better without being all awkward.
  • I'm not very funny, but I find most things hilarious

...Whatcha think? I'm not into reptiles or avians, I think. So just...y'know...keep that in mind.

For furry NSFW artists: How do you respond when someone asks what you do for a living?

Furry Reddit - Mon 14 Jul 2014 - 20:36

(Borrowed from an artist I watch, link at bottom)

"" "So what do you do for a living?"

As a furry artist, I never seem prepared for that question when it gets asked in casual conversation. I usually just say one of these;

"oh, I do freelance graphic design/illustration for a living." "I draw people's imaginations." "I draw personal artwork of people's own original ideas."

So, knowing very well that I just can't say "I draw anthropomorphic animals having sex and/or eating each other", what nifty answers do you guys say to dodge that question? ""

Looking for an image that was posted here a while back that was a fursuit reference sheet. Ex: The "Don't Hug Cacti" Style, The "Autumn Fallings" Style, etc

Furry Reddit - Mon 14 Jul 2014 - 19:17

It had a hand-drawn head-shot for each fursuit maker and contained anywhere from 15 to 25 of these head-shots in total for the entire image. Also the entire image had werid colors like blue and pink, everything was made out of the same small set of colors. Please assist me in finding this image if possible. Thx :)

Furry rainbow tail in new Weird Al Video

Furry Reddit - Mon 14 Jul 2014 - 19:07

Just a quick note. Weird Al just released a new album and in his first of eight video releases I saw a furry rainbow tail.

Have fun.

The tail appears at 1:47 on a dude in the background.
