I've created a subreddit for yarn tails!
I just wanted to announce that I've created a subreddit for all things pertaining to yarn tails.
If you are crafter and you want to show off your latest tails. If you are a crafter looking for tips from other crafters and of course if you want to share any of your tips and tricks that you've learned making yarn tails. Or if you are looking to have a yarn tail commissioned.
Yarn tails are a craft that is near and dear to my heart. I originally started working on yarn tails when I discovered SkahllyBir Yarn Tails and was AMAZED with their beautiful tails. Almost three years later and DOZENS of tails later I am proud to call myself a successful yarn tail artist.

What does a Furry have to do in the community to be classified as a Furry?
As a person who lacks talent in a lot of areas that some furries have (exp. art, music, fursuits, etc.) I feel as though I am not a full-fledged member of the community. I still love to read the stories posted and look at the art that is created but I don't post anything in return...
TL;DR: I feel as though my contributions to the community are not adequate enough to call myself a furry.

artist recommendations?
Hello, I'm looking for someone to illustrate my character, but I don't have enough watched artists on FA, apparently. :P I favor a messy/sloppy and painterly/impressionistic style (though I adore desaturated colors and values). Examples of FA artists I like are macks, rampack, stigmata, tacklebox, jive, etc. I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but whatever.

The life of a teenage furry
I just turned 16 and have been active in the community for awhile now! It's the most kind and welcoming group that I've ever experienced. I love you all ~
But, how'd you all do it when you were younger? It's not like I can just hide a fur-suit in my room or tell my parents about this hobby - I'm scared for that dreaded occasion when someone googles fursuiters or furry and it leads to yiff, the dark side of the community, etc. I prefer not to tell them anything about the furry community whatsoever.
It's a bit easier now that I can drive, though! What can I do to show my furry pride and partake in events without telling my parents? Also, I've been dropping hint bombs like its World War III on my friend about furries, he said it was awesome but I haven't in about a month and I never asked him if he was one yet (wish me luck on that)!
Side Idea:
I thought about creating a kickstarter for STL locals to buy fursuits that they've always wanted and to create a Meetup group to visit Children Hospitals such as St. Jude. This would be a great way to wear a fursuit around my parents and friends without them knowing entirely I'm a furry, right? I don't know... I need guidance!

He Wants to Get Married, but Same-Sex Weddings Are Illegal in His State
This is the first time I've written a letter to a advice columnist before so I hope it comes out correctly. As of July 5th I have been engaged to be married to a Wonderful Fur. The problem is, because of the laws in the state where we live, we can't get married here. The state doesn't even recognize gay marriages done in other states; there is a lawsuit going on against the state for violating our rights and they say there won't be a decision until 2015.
What should I do?

Well, you could wait until next year. So far, every state in the Union in which there has been a court challenge against anti-gay-marriage laws has seen those laws reversed by federal courts for being unconstitutional. There’s a good bet that this will also happen in your state.
There’s also a lot to be said for not rushing into marriage. How long have you known each other before you got engaged this month? Have you tried living together? Living together can be a BIG eye opener. The point being, it’s already 2014, and 2015 is not that far off, so why rush it?
If you really can’t stand waiting any longer, you could always travel to a state where gay marriage is legal, but then the marriage won’t be recognized in your state until that state gets its collective head out of its arse. You could also travel to a country like the Netherlands, Denmark, France, Norway, Argentina, Brazil, and many others, and get married there, but that would be a bit much.
Striking down the Defense of Marriage Act in 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court found that it was unconstitutional to prevent same-sex couples from marrying. Thus, it is only a matter of time and the legal process in each state to go forward before it is legal everywhere in America (Oh, the horror for conservatives everywhere! Watch out, right-wingers! We’re coming to destroy the institution of marriage! You know, like Britney Spears did).
Anyway, I’m pretty confident same-sex marriage will become legal in your state, as well, and, since it is already almost August 2014, I would say, just chill out a bit, enjoy the time you are engaged, and take this time to carefully plan out a nice wedding and honeymoon.
