I am an Transhumanist furry, If you don't know what that is, it is a teeny tiny subset of the fandom that orbits the arenas of the word furry but does not generally get involved with "teh drama llama" issues with the fandom and is its own.. thing.

Here is the best I can do for a direct definition.

"Transhumanist furry - A person who believes that technology will advance to a point to where we will be able to swap bodies as easily as getting into a different car."

The singular thing about this is simply that there are no biological , technological or physical reason that it cannot happen once we get onto working with nanotechnology (yes that word gets overused abit) and nanobiology to where we can have our brains placed in shell units ( yes lifted that from GITS) and be able to "plug in" to a new form

I am actually writing a book about this. What happens to humanity when we, in all practical terms can become our dreams. The applications of having an avian form and soar the skies , cetacean and other aquatic forms to swim the oceans. To be able to thunder and run upon hooves. To prowl in the tall grass.

There comes a point for humanity that a simple question should be asked. Why not forms that allow me to walk upon the face of mars and feel the sand between my toes? Why must we change every planet we visit to fit us , when we could be the ones that fit the environment.

A lot furries get labeled as being suffering from some form of Dysmorphic syndrome, Transhumanist want to experience life in new ways. I want to know. to grow as a being that can see things like no human body can or ever experience.

Is it body Dysmorphia to want to tumble from atop a skyscraper and open my wings and soar? to feel the primary feathers pulled upon as I tilt my wings to turn? Is it insane to want to hear and sense things I cannot while in this pretty much hairless monkey body?

What I have done in my work as an artist, costume maker and mad scientist has been now to experiment, To build devices that move ultrasonic sounds into the human hearing range. Something you should try at least once while walking in the woods. There is so much chatter at times you swear you will go deaf.

listening to things in the infrasonic is fun too. long frequencies power poles put out. Or go to the zoo and see what elephants have to say. You might think them quiet. Oh no. not at all.

The point is, we .. are out here as well. We have an idea. one where we try and expose the world to a beauty and wonder that could be,

So maybe .. sometime in the future people will consider turning circles on wingtip in a sky so blue.
