Howl Toronto’s Q&A for “The Furclub Survey”, from organizer Raverfox.

Dogpatch Press - Wed 5 Nov 2014 - 10:00
Furclubbing: “A repeat/regular nightclub event by furries for furries.”  It’s a New Thing that’s been spreading since the late 2000’s. This kind of dance party is independent from cons.  This builds on the growth of cons, and takes things farther.  It’s more established than events that happen once, house parties or informal meets.  Those can be inner-focused, or gather […]

Book of the Month: Improbable… Never Impossible by Vixyy Fox

Furry Writers' Guild - Wed 5 Nov 2014 - 08:25

November’s Book of the Month, Improbable… Never Impossible, is written by FWG member Vixyy Fox and illustrated by Cara Bevan.

improbable coverImprobable… Never Impossible is a gentle story about love. It is a children’s story of old with a life lesson of good morals, good reading, and beautiful art like you have never seen. In a crazy mixed up hardened asphalt world it is also a reminder to adults that they were once young with an imagination that could envision anything they wished. Worlds where animals could speak and dressed like people were common place to their hearts. Within the mind’s eye they found a wonderful and safe place where a cat and a mouse could come together in only a way that two hearts were meant to join.

“Come know this place again and find the child you were… never really grew up at all.”

Order from Rabbit Valley.

NA Furry Summoners

Furry Reddit - Wed 5 Nov 2014 - 03:59

My friend decided he wanted to derp around on my main until the end of Season 4 so I'm forced to level up a smurf until he's done. It's kinda really slow going. Add me: 4Gnarnia. Level 10 atm and playing mostly intermediate bots until I can purchase Ezreal then I'll start playing pvp.

Also are there any active furry chat rooms on league?

On a slightly related note, favorite champs? Mine are (in no particular order) Ezreal(ofc), Syndra, Orianna, and Talon.

Animals at the Office

In-Fur-Nation - Wed 5 Nov 2014 - 02:52

Anouk Ricard is a cartoonist from Europe known for his satirical, surreal creations — usually involving animal characters. In his new graphic novel Benson’s Cuckoos we meet a hapless new office worker named Richard — who’s about to discover that his boss and his co-workers are more than just strange, they’re outright dangerous. Here’s what Publisher’s Weekly had to say: “Originally published in French as Coucous Bouzon, this comic is like a fever dream of workplace anxiety drawn by Richard Scarry for those worn down by the business grind. Richard has just started a new job at a company that makes cuckoo clocks. That’s apropos, since the boss seems at best distracted, at worse insane. He’s been hired to replace a man named George, who disappeared suddenly. As Richard tries to cope with being asked to bring his own computer and prepare presentations without supporting files, he finds himself enveloped in the growing mystery of just what happened to George. It’s silly, with much of the humor coming from what look like children’s toys shooting or propositioning each other. The art is childlike, flat and colorful, but the content is distinctly adult.” Published in full color by Drawn & Quarterly in trade paperback, Benson’s Cuckoos is available now from Barnes & Noble.

Furry Reddit - Tue 4 Nov 2014 - 22:31

Hello, I'm 14 and today I have become a furry. Is there anything I should/ need to know? Like how I should go about telling my family and friends, or just general stuff I should know? Thanks for the support.

Everyone is a furry. What happens next?

Furry Reddit - Tue 4 Nov 2014 - 21:05

Kind of a writing prompt or social experiment since I'm bored. Let's presume that tomorrow, about 70% of the Earth's population will violently transform into their fursonas or otherwise an animal that is otherwise fitting for them. The remaining 20% remain human. In genetic terms, families will be usually the same species 90% of the time with the exception being adoptions (genetic make up based only on biological parents) or genetic variability (ie two red foxes has a cross fox for an offspring). Hybrids are possible for every species, as are hybrids of further hybrids (whom should be referred to as chimeras but I'm not going to make up things for you). No one will obtain superpowers that their character may possess and no one will have their identities changed. They are stuck in their new bodies for the rest of their lives and their genetics are rewritten to adapt to their anthropomorphic change.

Now let's continue this story. Aside from telling us what you would do when you wake up in your new body, what in the world will change following the mysterious genetic shift? What new laws will pass and what new items will be commonplace? What ways will society change?
