So a gall in a college was doing this and in 12 years I never thought of this. To get a reference even though she was poor she commissioned a line art of her reference and obtain the artists permission to color it in herself. She colors it in with colored pencil and it turned out really nice. I don't know if this is a thing that lots of furs do but I thought it might help some furs needing a ref but short on cash.

TL; DR Commission line art references. With the artist permission color it in yourself with colored pencils..

Hey all,

I'm in a bit of a weird place with all of this furry stuff. I like the culture, I have for 10 years, but I don't like the people behind it. Or, at least, I'm not finding people I like. Maybe I'm not looking in the right spots.

I'm not into gaming and anime, which tends to be the case with (what I perceive to be) the overwhelming majority of people I talk to in the fandom. I'm just a computer science student, I like sports (tennis and hockey among others), I love good film, I love ambient and atmospheric music, and I also happen to be a casual furry on the side.

I feel like it's hard to find people that truly look for just the satisfaction of the art and furry interactions, but that don't seem to be involved to the point of not having, for a severe lack of better words, the ability to hold normal conversation. I've made perhaps one such friend. I've been to a few other of my good, real-life friends I suspected may be furries, no dice.

Is this just me playing hard to get, or am I just not looking in the right places?

I recently made a shoddy half suit for the first time and would like to go out in public with it or with the next suit I make. I've seen tons of videos and read a lot about people suiting with handlers in stores or malls and figured that would be a great place to start! Any advice for this aspiring performer from you guys?
