A gift for a special someone

Furry Reddit - Wed 25 Feb 2015 - 12:25

Hello!

I know valentine's day has rolled by already but hey, anytime is a good time to give presents to people you love. I am not a furry myself, although I'm very familiar with the community, but my girlfriend is. She draws a lot in her free time, and has become very proud and attached to her fursona.

I was wondering if I could ask any of you artistically-minded guys and gals to draw her fursona. I don't really know about the art commissions rules of this subreddit, if it even has some, but I'm prepared to spend what I can if some of you work for wages. (I'm basing myself off her work, sometimes her commissions are free, sometimes not, it mostly depends on the degree of liking she has towards her client. Once again, I apologies for potential being ignorant of the rules)

A short backstory on my strange race of goo lizards.

Furry Reddit - Wed 25 Feb 2015 - 11:06

What they look like

T-gobras have a very mellow happy personality, are very much into cuddling and being helpful. Of coarse their all different and there are evil ones, but in general they're very kind. Unless your a truly evil shithead( think Stalin, Hitler, Carly Manson, News media, ext), then their not kind at all but more on that in a bit. There not super strong or good at fighting ,but this doesn't mean their pushover little bitches. No, they are more builders and thinkers when their not busy trying to make someone happy.

As goo creatures they can eat almost anything given enough time but they prefer liquid and soft fruit. So no vore is usually not their thing, but if it would make someone happy to live out that fantasy and have 0% chance of death. Then a T-Gobra could help with that, but they'd rather cuddle.

They are a space going race but nothing huge. 3 planets including the home world and some outposts near their two allies, humans and (space sharks or something). Because they are builders and thinkers, they have the best ships and tech. Not much in the way of weaponry however but that's why they are allies with the two best fighting races. They do fight along side humans sometimes(the space sharks say their to nice to be soldiers) but its mostly because as builders they also know how to destroy shit real good.

T-Gobra tech is very durable and made to last. Everything is run on a hydrogen diesel concept or solar. You wouldn't know this by just looking at their machines as everything have a Dieselpunk look as apposed to the barebones look of human tech and sleek complicated look of (space shark) tech. They aren't to sharing on how their tech works but they'd be more than happy to sell you a ship with an interface configured to your race. You'll need to hire some of their engineers to work on it though.

Now for the bit about how the T-Gobras stop being all kind and loving sometimes. Well not sometimes his defensive side of them is always on and because of that they stop most small threats before they happen and if they cant stop it, whoever was responsible will most likely be executed on the spot. They have very little crime but its mostly because they just aren't the type to do bad things. Like i said they arent great at fighting but they come across someone getting robbed, beaten, raped, murdered, ext. Then they will almost always rekt the fuck out of the badguy. This cased problems with some groups of humans but the (space sharks) like them for it.

Alright that sums it up well. If youd like to make a T-gobra then send me a shout or note. they can have any colors and females look like males but with more feminine shape and thinner tail. An evil one is very rare so pleas dont make a villein T-gobra. Their much better suited to be a comforting friend to lean on.

Member Spotlight: David Sharp

Furry Writers' Guild - Wed 25 Feb 2015 - 09:17
1. Tell us about your most recent project (written or published). What inspired it? ?The Trouble with Furries started off as a project about the 1990’s club scene. The original idea was more of Studio 54 tale of getting lost in the chaos of the time and place. In 2006, I met a furry by chance, in the desert of Phoenix, while working an event security gig. I commented on his fox tail. He was cagey at first, then eventually opened up about what it meant. I learned through our talks about a subculture, while he learned that I was a writer and encouraged me to write about furries. At that time I did not know how to approach the subject since I was an outsider. Flash forward to 2013, and the idea of combining the two projects struck me as an unique option to tell the story. The final book is a dark cautionary tale of the woes of excess and a metaphor for the beast within. 2. What’s your writing process like? Are you a “pantser,” an outliner, or something in between?

I am probably a little in between the total structure of outlines and the dive in philosophy of the pantser. I see a story come together in my head as if I were watching a film unfold. Outlines are guideposts and sometimes change as the story takes on a life of its own. Once on a roll, the process seems to speed up to its conclusion.

3. What’s your favorite kind of story to write?

My favorite kind of story is a journey where the character must travel somewhere on the road and experience strange things on the way to his destiny.

4. Which character from your work do you most identify with, and why?

The one character I identify with most is Lane Bowden from my unpublished manuscript of The Journey of Lane Bowden. The story is set in 1973 with a true crime backdrop. I put a lot of my own mother’s passing into his fictional world as his mom, Ellen, died of cancer.

5. Which authors or books have most influenced your work? Clive Barker has inspired me not only in fantasy, but as being a role model as a gay author. I also grew up on Stephen King. He is a master of believable characters. 6. What’s the last book you read that you really loved?

I recently finished A Dance with Dragons and am enduring the long wait for The Winds of Winter. George R.R. Martin has created an amazing world from the well-defined characters and geography of the lands to the politics and religions of the realms.

7. Besides writing, how do you like to spend your free time?

I love film, particularly horror films and still have my collection of Fangoria magazines from my youth. I go to the gym regularly. Most importantly, I like to spend time with my partner, Bo.

8. Advice for other writers?

Never give up on your dream. Always write it out no matter what. A little writing a day gets you closer, so do not be overwhelmed.

9. Where can readers find your work?

My books are available at amazon.com/author/sharpdavid, Apple Ibookstores, Barnes & Noble, Kobo ebooks, and other fine retailers.

10. What’s your favorite thing about the furry fandom?

Furry fandom gives an outlet for individuality and freedom to try on a new persona. My favorite part is the creativity.

I need some help...

Furry Reddit - Wed 25 Feb 2015 - 05:33

Back in i believe late october early november of 2014 i hired a furry artist (who will go unnamed for the moment) to have a commission done for my fursona. Needless to say, here we are almost in March, still nothing. I have already sent the artist a notice on monday that if there is no finished product by this friday then i want a complete refund. I haven't gotten any replies to my message from the artist yet either. I hate this situation i've been put in but i need to know what i can do if the artist doesn't reciprocate. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place for this.
