I finally had enough courage to post here.

Furry Reddit - Mon 9 Mar 2015 - 11:42

Yes, you may have noticed I made this account literally seconds ago. There are a few reasons why I did this. Mainly, I am pretty sure there are a few people in my life that know my main reddit account and I am not ready to publicly admit the fact that I may or may not be a furry. I assure you that I am generally interested in being apart of the community.

I am not sure if anyone cares, but I would really like to tell the story about how I got here today. So here it goes!

I guess it started when I was kid, my favorite movies were always animated and had animals as the main character. This is still true today. I learned what a furry was through a friend I was talking through an anime convention forum. I generally didn't think anything of it at first. "Whatever floats peoples boats." Upon learning about this lifestyle, I would find myself liking more furry related art, and not just porn. Any drawing made me happy really. It all changed when one of my cosplayer friends started to make furry costumes for some cash. This person was not a furry, but they seemed to be proud to be apart of the community. The costumes got better and better. I would find myself always looking for updates on the website hoping to see more. Then google image searching, and DeviantART accounts, then lurking on the sub for many months. Today, I found the courage to make the jump.

I think you guys are a pretty good community. Just reading some posts made me feel welcome. I look forward to maybe chatting with some of you, sharing laughs, and maybe eventually making a Fursona? (Little fuzzy on that part, har har.)

Thanks guys. I appreciate who ever decides to read this.

Furry Reddit - Mon 9 Mar 2015 - 10:28

Just wanted to know who is going to Furry Weekend Atlanta. Figured this might help people meet-up and hang out, make friends and get to know one another.

I'm checked in at Loopy. I've got a badge with a wolf holding a TV camera on it, Otherwise I'm pretty nondescript.

Calling all furry poets!

Furry Writers' Guild - Mon 9 Mar 2015 - 07:39

There aren’t all that many open calls for poetry among the fandom’s publications, so I thought this deserved an announcement of its own. [adjective][species] is currently seeking animal- or furry-themed poetry to publish on their site, and they’re open to poetry submissions through the end of this month. Submissions must be unpublished (though having been previously posted to FA, SoFurry, or Weasyl is okay).

You can find all the details here:

http://adjectivespecies.com/2015/03/06/call-for-submissions-furryanimal-poetry/

The Fast and the Furriest

In-Fur-Nation - Mon 9 Mar 2015 - 01:34

March Grand Prix is a new full-color graphic novel for young readers, published by Capstone. It comes to us from the mind of Kean Soo, creator of the award-winning comic book series Jellaby. “March Hare wants to be the fastest and furriest race-car driver around. But first, this rabbit racer must prove his skills at the speedway, on the streets, and in the desert. With pedal-to-the-metal illustrations and full-throttle action, March Grand Prix is sure to be a winner!” It’s set for publication this July in hardcover (and then a month later in trade paperback), but Capstone is releasing a special preview edition as part of this year’s Free Comic Book Day (on May 2nd).

I have conflicting thoughts on the fandom.

Furry Reddit - Mon 9 Mar 2015 - 00:49

I've been all over the place with my opinion on furries. At first I had a dislike for them, which was ironic when I later became one. After that I was passionate about defending the fandom, but now I'm back at dislike. I have the urge and need to contribute to the fandom, but I have this guy in my head who criticizes every furry-related thing I see. Does anyone else have a similar experience? Is there a solution?

Hey guys, if you could live on any other planet, what would it be?

Furry Reddit - Mon 9 Mar 2015 - 00:11

I would live on Pluto ( ;_; it's a planet too) because it's always cold and dark, perfect weather to hone my emo...ness.
