I used to be in the Navy and decided it'd be cool to have a fursuit wear NWUs. I still have the collar devices on (e4) but otherwise the nametapes say "Bornes" and "Furaffinity." I also have a set of clean coveralls with e4 insignia and the same custom nametapes.

I currently live in Hawaii and after the "so cool" idea fairy wore off I decided to never wear them because I thought it might offend someone.

But I am moving soon and I was wondering if I should shelf this idea forever, or if I wore this outfit in an area not heavily populated by military, what people would think?

Legally, I'm completely within my rights to wear it. But if the first impression of a fursuit wearing NWUs is negative I'd rather just give up the idea.

So, thoughts?

I really enjoy writing up spur-of-the-moment tales that showcase my dudes doing stuff with your dudes. I would like to do it again!

Just give me a brief description of your character(If you already typed about him or her, linking to that post is fine) as well as any suggestions you might have regarding the plot and how it should go. I also find that I write much better with music to inspire me; linking a piece that fits the tone you want is much appreciated, but not required. If your song has an instrumental counterpart, I will always prefer that.

I am still a novice at writing, so heavy apologies if I donk everything up.

I was hesitant to go suiting at the nearest mall because it wasn't Halloween, so I know some people might look down on it. I was really listless one day and decided what the heck, I love making people smile and laugh.

The support and love from most everyone there was much more than I expected. Even the mall security got a big kick out of it even so far as one taking a selfie with me. I had a few people ask me to pose for a picture. I got a lot of smiles from all sorts of people, even people I would not have expected. I even met a couple of people who knew what fursuiters were or had a family member who is a fur and thought it was neat that I was there performing in suit. I didn't really get any negative reactions and the "worst" I got was a few teenage guys looked over and shrugged and kept on walking and one little kid who wanted to rip the tail.

So some people might hate the fandom, and some furs may look down on fursuiters, but the closest mall loves it.

Every April I've been trying to do a comic a day series, though this year it's a bit different. I've wanted to share my comics on other sites before, but it's hard because a lot of people seem to like or dislike stuff based on the fact it's furry. Well I ran into this subreddit awhile back, so hopefully you guys like it! In the links on that comic are links to previous years, so you can all judge and laugh/not laugh at my art and jokes!

I'm proud of how far my art has come in the past few years, and I just felt like sharing! Sorry for the self promotion, just my art is one of the things in my life I'm beginning to feel good about

There have been some discussions and some suggestions about handling how NSFW works here on /r/furry.

With that in mind, and given that a lot of suggestions have come through, I'd like to put a few options out to the users to vote.

I will make a comment for each option, Vote for which one you'd prefer by upvoting that comment. So if you like Option A below, vote for the comment which says "Option A".

Top level comments WILL be removed to keep the voting threads visible. If discussion gets out of hand or if people get nasty in the comment threads I will disable commenting on this post, so keep any comments civil and don't break rule 5.

I will tally the votes at 11AM EST on Sunday, April 5th.

OPTION A

These specific rules, posted in the sidebar, but we will lose most of the sidebar to fit them: 1) any direct show of genitalia or female nipples is to be marked as nsfw

2) Anything scantily clad (bikinis, speedos, lingerie) especially when posed in a suggestive manner (purposefully displaying crotch/groin, breasts, or butt) is to be marked as nsfw

3) Disney nude (nude but not directly [covered with fur etc] showing genitalia or female nipples) is to be marked nsfw if it is posed in a sexual manner (prior definition) and or there remains depiction implied or otherwise of genitalia or female nipples (ie bulges, colored patches of fur, etc)

4) full clothing (pants, shorts, shirts, skirts, dresses, one piece swimsuits) remain acceptable as long as there is no depiction implied or otherwise of genitalia or female nipples

5) excessive violence or gore is to be marked nsfw

6) excessive swearing in conversation, displayed swearing in art, or other objectionable discussion is to be marked nsfw

7) drug usage is to be marked nsfw (smoking, alcohol, etc)

OPTION B

Basic, expanded clarification only: Tag visible genitals (including visible through underwear/clothing) ,visible nipples (m/f), sexual behavior, suggestive clothing(ie, fetish gear), violence, and any drug use(including smoking, drinking, pills, etc). Disney/Barbie-like nudity does not need to be marked NSFW.

NOTE: Bathing suit/underwear pictures will STILL be allowed under this unless they have obvious nipples or genitals showing.

OPTION C

Implement additional flairs for: Suggestive art, nudity, drug use, gore, and "mild nsfw" (but the thumbnails will still be visible unless the post is also marked nsfw).

Automoderator will send a reminder to the user to add a flair to their submission w/instructions. Automatic flairing might have to be disabled for this, but not sure yet.

OPTION D

Leave it how it is and allow the users to continue to self moderate, with occasional step ins from the moderator.

on the New Jersey news site nj.com, deals with the shutting down of West Windsor's Twin "W" Rescue Squad. Towards the end of the article, the (alleged) inappropriate activity at the 2012 NJ FurBQ is mentioned, as it was held on the squad premises.
