While I applaud the idea of awards such as these, I do wish that there was a way for anthro fans who have no way to attend CF to be allowed to vote. =/
Agreed. But I am also curious who compiles these lists to begin with, and what criteria has to be met to be listed.
It would also be nice to see the nomination tallies and actual vote tallies like other awards do.
Just a suggestion.
You don't have to attend to vote, you just have to be a member of The ConFurence Group. Non-attending memberships are only $15 through March 15.
Since The ConFurence Group is the host of the Ursa Major Awards, and is providing the trophies, this is not unreasonable.
Nominations were open to all furries, everywhere, and will be again for next year's awards. It's only the final voting that is restricted to CF members.

ConFurence will again be at the Burbank Hilton, April 25-27, 2003. Visit http://confurence.net for more details on this and other events being hosted by The ConFurence Group.
Don't go to the link Fred quoted. http://confurence.com is the *old* website still maintained by Mark and Rodney for selling merchandise of CF10 and earlier.
The correct website for information about ConFurence 2002 is at http://confurence.net

That information has been posted here and to the fur newsgroups and several other places multiple times over the last few months. If you click on the "News from Fred" link up above and to your left, you will see one of the articles which lists a website. I was going to put the link in this message, but the system isn't recognizing the a href command. :/
