Strength is pointless when you roll a 3
So a buddy of mine just introduced me to the whole furry thing, and I have some questions?
Are there any like, shows or comics or anything that are specifically furry?
As a fandom, what are you really fans of? Anthro styled art?
What qualifies someone as a Furry? And could it be said that there is a difference between someone who is a furry, and someone who has a furry fetish?
I just wanted to know cause I like what I see of the furry community. It looks cute and happy and fun (and nerdy haha) but I want to understand it better.

He Frets His Furiend Will Go Overboard Announcing He's a Furry
I had suspected my good friend of being interested in the furry fandom for a few years. Turned out he was but was too “embarrassed,” afraid of rejection or being teased while in high school. It is great that he acknowledges that he is interested in it, but I’m afraid knowing someone he has been friends with for along time he might go over the top announcing it to the world or really “bedroom” conversation I'm not going to be interested in. Question is, “How can I guide him from being over the top with too much furry pride at one time to his friends and family or tell him to calm down if he is not ready to tell others?” I went through this and it was a rough emotional roller coaster, and I feel I can only be there for him because I feel it is not my place to tell him what to do when the fandom is about being unique and expressing yourself.

Hi, Kim,
What do you mean, exactly, by "going over the top"? And why do you think that your friend, who was silent on the matter in high school, would suddenly be outrageously overt about his furriness?

I've seen it before with others and people I know and myself where if you feel comfy enough with peers you feel that everyone will accept you like your friends do when that's not the case.

Kim,
I would think that if he was nervous about being publicly furry before he wouldn’t suddenly do a 180 and be outrageously over the top with his furriness. Just because you and some others did that doesn’t necessarily mean he will.
It would likely be sufficient for you, as his friend, to express your concerns to him, relate your own experiences, and let him make his own decisions from there. Assuming he is an adult, like you, he is old enough to live his own life and make his own decisions. Be a friend, be there for him, share what has happened to you, and then relax and don’t worry about it. You’re not responsible for other people’s lives.
Hugs,

Facebook account suspended for using the name of my fursona
Note: This is mainly going to be a vent post.
Last night, with literally no warning, my Facebook account was suspended because I used the name of my fursona instead of my real name. The specific reason given was that I "wasn't using the name I would use with friends."
Since the name I used is how I introduce myself in person, and the vast majority of furs would only recognize me by my fursona, I'd say that reasoning is entirely flawed in this case. However, since communicating with an actual person at Facebook seems to be impossible, I don't even have a chance to try and explain that. The only thing I can do is submit both my real name and an official ID with my name, picture, etc.
Has anyone else dealt with this issue? I imagine there is nothing I can do to reverse the decision, and since I don't want to use my real name or provide my ID to Facebook, my account is almost certainly done for.
TL;DR: I used "Outsider Wolf" as my name on Facebook, and with no warning my account was suspended last night. Now the only way to reactivate it is to submit my real name and a photo of an official ID. Since I don't want to do that, and it looks like there is no way to contest the decision, this is apparently the end of my Facebook account.
