Who wants to talk?

Furry Reddit - Mon 1 Jun 2015 - 14:10

Sooo I'm going to be waiting in line for a long time shortly. My university just disbanded and merged with another school, and our first semester as UTRGV is this Fall. Just went to register for Fall and every single part of my academic record is messed up. It has me listed as a senior (I'm a junior), literally half my transcript is missing, and my credits that did make it aren't accurate (some are listed as transfer credits instead of the actual classes).

So I'll be waiting in line behind the other thousand students messed up by this and wanna talk :3

If you have a picture of your fursona or have something in mind, tell me and I'll do a sketch.:3 Just know I draw a million different styles so you could get a cute little chibi or a blood soaked monster (unless you specifically want it one way...) Thank you and have a great day purrs Ps- I can't draw beaks. So I'm super sorry if I ruin your picture, avians ;-;

Getting kicked out >~<

Furry Reddit - Mon 1 Jun 2015 - 13:19

---Before you read through this wall of text, I live just south of Houston, TX---

Hiya...I feel awful posting this, I hate asking for help.

My parents are kicking me out because they found out I'm gay...I'm 18 but I'm not ready to live on my own yet. I'll be moving in with my boyfriend very soon, (as soon as our rent house becomes available): within a couple weeks, a month max.

I don't have anywhere to stay :-/

Any of you fuzzybutts have a place where I can hang out for a couple weeks while I wait for my rent house to become available? I unfortunately can't compensate immediately...monetarily at least. You can have my Blu Ray collection, electric keyboard and plenty of cuddles though 0.0

I'm super clean and quiet and can sleep on a couch. I realize this isn't the best pitch but I don't really have much to offer right now >_<

Once again, I live just south of Houston, TX. Thanks fellow fuzzbutts <3

If Furry Con Security was your responsibility, how would you set things up?

Furry Reddit - Mon 1 Jun 2015 - 11:50

I'm mainly looking for redditors with consec experience or experience in concom, but anyfur is welcome to bring their ideas to the table! experience in security/law enforcement outside of conventions is also definitely a plus!

I work for a fur con in the security department, and we're rapidly expanding our attendance base. I sometimes worry that with the numbers we're getting, we're going to need to alter our approach to security. I'm seeking outside ideas, hopefully to help cope with the increases in attendance that are forecast for next year. And no, I'd really rather not name my convention, because I'm not a department head (just a lead)- and because this is completely unauthorized, just an exploratory thing, if you can dig it. (*???)

My two main concerns:

Coverage - this includes attraction and retention of quality security staff/volunteers, as well as a better utilization of the personnel resources available;

Training - what to emphasize in training, how much training to give, and how to achieve staffing/volunteering goals while still maintaining minimum training standards.

For those who are less familiar with con security, there are some things we can't do for liability reasons - but I'd love to hear any ideas you have - hoverboards for patrolling a parking lot included. XD

Did the Axis Have Any Funny Animals? – WWII history from Fred Patten.

Dogpatch Press - Mon 1 Jun 2015 - 10:05
Submitted by Fred Patten, Furry’s favorite historian and reviewer.   SEE BOTTOM: At Fred’s request, a gallery of rare book illustrations from Van den Vos Reynaerde was scanned for this post by the UCRiverside Library. Animal fables traditionally tell morals – this article shows a historically fascinating misuse of anthropomorphism for fascist and Social Darwinist goals. “Dear Patch; This is basically […]
