Published at the tail-end (ha ha ha) of 2015 we have Barsk: The Elephants’ Graveyard, the first book in a new series by Lawrence M. Schoen. You Are Worthy
You are worthy of friends who love you as much as they love themselves.
I have a group of friends in my life right now, and they don't like me very much. They don't like themselves hardly much as well. They think they're losers, unworthy of going anywhere in life, or having true friendships with people that truly honor them. They stay with each other, amidst the bickering, the constant wanting of each other's submission, because they don't believe in any world where they're worth more than garbage, so they settle for less in everything: their characters, their future, their spouses, their homelives, their jobs, their art.
I'm going to leave that group very soon, because I know I am worth honest friendship. I know I'm worth true, virtuous love like the kind you hope for. I'm tired of feeling looked-down-upon. I am worthy of obtaining happiness.
You are worthy of obtaining happiness.
And you're worthy of true love.
My brother recently found the most perfect person in all the world. They're madly in love with each other in a most pure and clean way. They love God more than they love each other, so their love had bled into each other and created a most passionate romance. Every day my brother thinks of her and he can't believe he unworthy of such a love is, but he knows that he is worthy of love. Just the same, so does his girlfriend wonder how she was so worthy to meet a man like him. It's a wonderful thing to look upon.
Just the same, I believe you - yes you - are worthy of a true and mutual love. A love where no one is humiliated or made to dominated like a hilltop, but where a true confession of zeal is mutually poured out between each other, like a waterfall that replenish each other forever.
The other group of friends I mentioned earlier - there's four people in it. Two of those people are a couple, and all they do is bicker with each other. It's all a massive screaming match between them; man and woman, throwing each other over verbally to assert their dominance. I know they hate their relationship, but I know they also look at themselves as losers, so they put up with second best because neither of them believe they'll ever find anyone who will love them any more than their spouse does now.
I have another friend in that group who doesn't believe he's worthy of love. He believes he is so unworthy of a loving relationship that he has decided to pursue change of his outer self to fit his inner self. He says he just wants to change, but I know that inside he has no idea what a healthy love looks or feels like, so he'll turn himself into an object that he believes is meant to be controlled, oppressed, dominated, and defeated every day. But I know he is worthy of winning with somebody he loves. There are days he tells me that he'll probably kill himself by 30, whither or not somebody has sex with him, because he fears growing old and ugly, and he fears that by then nobody will look at him anymore.
You, r/furry, are worth more than defeat, wartime relationships, terror. Your lives are supposed to be good! You're worthy of being happy! I know it is true, because I know I am worthy.
I once had some friends from when I was young and still a little innocent. I lost that last bit of innocence when I was playing in somebody else's yard with the guys, and there was a rope around my foot, and they were trying to topple me. I wouldn't submit to defeat, so one of them came up to me while I was on the ground and stomped the back of my neck. Military kids are very cruel. When I stopped moving for utter shock of the attempted injury and the crushing my heart they all left back to one of their houses. I cried there in the lawn, shuddering and wondering why they would do that? I wasn't worth anything to them... but I didn't know where else I could go to for any form of friendship, so like a piece of trash I returned to them, and they thought nothing of their action.
You're worth more than to have somebody you trust stomp your neck. You're worth more than hatred, betrayer, to always come tumbling in the wind to your discreditors like a plastic bag. You are worthy of true love, true friendship, of honesty, of happiness, of self-discovery! You are worthy of getting a job that you like, advancing in your field, making enough money to own a nice place, to find somebody you love, to share an true and mutual love with them, to have great friends who love you just as much as you love them, and to have at least one night a week where you're all together playing games and being happy!
You are worthy of happiness! I promise you with all my heart, r/furry, you were made for more than tears.
