FurAffinity Enters Temporary “Read-Only” Mode
Update: FurAffinity has removed the “Read-Only” Mode and is back to its normal submission policies.
FurAffinity announced this morning that it had disabled the site’s ability to upload, remove, or edit submission files. As part of an on-going file transfer, FurAffinity was set into a “Read-Only” mode to ensure that new files were not added to the already immense amount of submissions on the database.
Yak, a member of the FA administration, wrote on the FA Forums today that nearly 1.7 terabytes of submission files were being moved to a more spacious file server. As a result, the changes could take a day or more in order to iron out all of the complications that may arise.
“In addition to just moving the files several services will also be transferred to the new server in order to lighten the load on the primary server where they are currently located,” Yak said. “The file read-only mode only applies to operations on submissions and avatars that would result in files being added, removed or modified; the rest of the site should be functional as usual.”
For at least today, all artists and contributors will unfortunately be unable to post any of their work. The FA home-screen submissions remain unchanged, and will likely remain there for a few days.
Some furries are concerned that once the submission abilities have been restored to the website, the massive amounts of delayed file uploads will overwhelm the brand-new server – creating more problems. Others are confident that FA will be able to handle the massive strain of submissions and are optimistic that the popular site will be faster and more efficient.
“1.7 terabytes isn’t that much when you look at it,” one fur commented. “If they wanted to free up even more space, how about deleting all of the drawings and photographs that aren’t furry related? I mean, it is a furry website after all.”

Not Furry At All, But…
Here’s a non-furry item by a world-famous furry icon we think you all should know about. Chuck Jones, aka Charles M. Jones (1912-2002) was, in case you’ve been living on another planet for the past few decades, one of the master animators and directors at Warner Brothers animation in the 20th Century. He not only helped to refine the personalities of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, he also created the enduring characters of Wile E. Coyote, the Road Runner, and Pepe Le Pew the skunk. After his time at Warner Brothers, one of Jones’ many projects was a newspaper comic strip called Crawford, which he toiled on for 27 years before it had a brief run in 1978. Now, IDW Publishing brings us Chuck Jones: The Dream That Never Was, a new hardcover book that not only collects the Crawford strips, but also gives us the story of its creation with numerous original sketches, drawings, storyboards, and production notes. It’s a look into the mind of one of the greats of animation. The book was edited by Kurtis Findlay and Dean Mullaney, and designed by Lorraine Turner. According to Amazon, it comes to shelves this December.

Looking for specific flash.
There was a flash that High Tail Hall had before there website became a giant flash site, that featured two polar bears (MF). The F was giving the M a BJ in a hot tub and that was all the flash did. I was wondering if anyone knows if its up anywhere?
EDIT: Ok, I was able to find the flash. Thanks everyone for helping.

Icons! Pay what you like!
Hi Reddit. Today I woke up with an incredibly stiff, painful neck. It's nothing serious, but it's bad enough to keep me from going into work today.
Bills don't pay themselves and I was wondering what to do, so I thought perhaps I'd offer my limited art skills up to /r/furry. I'd like to offer these as 'pay what you want' icons. It can be as low as nothing or as high as all your life savings, up to you guys.
