FireStorm sparks interest

DailyFurBlog - Fri 6 Apr 2012 - 21:14

WOW look you can learn stuffz! So from the FA post seems FireStormSix is doing something cool which I actually like a lot, holding a panel for FurSuit care and Maintenance this year . While I’m not a fan of panels at cons, this one can be very useful coming from someone who puts out lots of fursuits in a year. Be sure to look for him and the  1-1 1/2 hour panels at MFF and AC.

"A Thousand Words" - Furry fetishist character?

Furries In The Media - Fri 6 Apr 2012 - 20:02
Eddie Murphy's "A Thousand Words" came out about a month ago, and was a box office flop--after two weeks it had made about $15 million back of its $40 million budget. It has the entertaining distinction of 0% positive reviews on RottenTomatoes.com. I haven't seen it, and no one I know has seen it. I'll ascribe it our collective good taste, then, that no one discovered and posted about the furry-fetishist supporting character.

"During a conference call, he has talking action figures speak on his behalf… and other grown adults fall for it. This is the comedy, folks. Devoted assistant Clark Duke spastically confessing to a furry fetish is what passes for funny here; the same goes for “come hither” looks from a shirtless fat man in an elevator." --film.com review, emph mine

"Sex/Nudity: Many verbal references to doing the deed (in multiple locations, sometimes filmed while playing “furry animals”)..." --Christian portal site crosswalk.com

"Clark Duke is additionally quite funny as Murphy’s dorky assistant who has a furry fetish." --ahwatukee.com

So, did anybody out there actually see this turkey? Is it a recurring joke, or a just a one-off that the reviewers like to repeat?

What is your outlook on pet/human relationships? and am I in the right here?

Furry Reddit - Fri 6 Apr 2012 - 18:54

Okay, so to make a very long story short, I'm a transgender bisexual furry. My family is.....less then accepting of it to say the least......

anyways, I have a kute kitty kat named atlas (if you get the reference you are a boss) and one day I was in my room working on my fursona, when the cat walks in. I was in a bit of a horny mood, and one thing led to another, and it ended with me fingering the cat. :3

all of the sudden, my facist republican christian mom walks in and sees me. now theres trouble in river city am i right? so she gets really mad at me and grounds me and wont let the cat into my room anymore. >:/

what is her problem? the cat really likes me, and I like him, why cant my fucking mom accept our love? what do you guys think, was she overreacting or what?

Anybody read the Wlekin Weasels series by Garry Kilworth?

Furry Reddit - Fri 6 Apr 2012 - 05:22

I loved these books when I read them in school. It was just the lore and adventure which enthralled me. Though it may have been for younger people I still love them.

When someone writes four paragraphs per post during an RP.

I dunno if it's just me, but I lose /so/ much interest. It makes me feel like they should just write their own story. What about you guys? How much is too much?

Teddy with a Dirty Mouth

In-Fur-Nation - Fri 6 Apr 2012 - 01:53

… and attitude. Look out below world, but Seth MacFarlane — creator of Family Guy — is about to unleash his first feature film on you this July. Simply called Ted, it tells the story of a young man who once wished that his childhood teddy bear would live with him forever… and now, he does, well into our hero’s adulthood, though both of them are obviously having trouble growing up. Interesting thing is, it appears that Ted the talking stuffed bear, his human friend, AND their other friends get along better that you might expect in this sort of a set-up. The R-rated film stars Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis, as well as Seth MacFarlane himself — yep, he wrote it, he directed it, and he stars as the voice of Ted, who’s animated in CGI. Cartoon Brew has a link to the film’s first trailer — but take warning, this is very raunchy and very very Not Safe For Work! Don’t say we didn’t tell you. Interestingly, Cartoon Brew also has an article about Imagine THIS, a cartoon strip that Lucas Turnbloom has been drawing since 2008… and which has some amazing similarities to Ted. They don’t accuse the Ted team of directly stealing, the the article is still interesting.
