What catagory of furry are you?
For example, I am a cat furry, extremely compedative, love to game, draw, and lack in my liking of sports. That kindof stuff.
I want to get to know the community a bit more! If you find this a waste of time, thats ok, just move on to the next reddit.

Something I always found particularly weird..
Hey guys, I was wondering why, when someone asks whats furry about, do we instinctively bring up that "its not at all sexual"? I mean really. If you didn't turn on the 18 or over filter on FurAffinity, you would be literally missing HALF of the art. I am not saying it isn't wise to do so, get all defensive ( like I really need bestiality accusations), but outwardly denying it (when its so damn ubiquitous) is a bit hypocritical wouldn't you say? If within the last 100 times you didn't fap to furry porn, then alright, it really isn't that sexual, but if you're on websites preaching on how the fandom is more of just an interest in cartoons, when every night your erasing your browsing history because you spent the night on E621.net or TGDFB, well I think that is personally a bit more unhealthy than just admitting you (or the fandom ((which I think is a lame word))) like anthro smut.

Are Most Furries Gay?
I have been involved in the fandom for about five years now, and in that time, I have noticed an uncommonly large gay community among furries. I know that, statistically there are more men than women in the fandom, but I have a hard time figuring out how the gay furry community became so pervasive. It seems that M/M porn is just as, if not more, common than M/F porn. Any thoughts regarding this?

Dear Sphinx,
According to a recent survey (http://www.klisoura.com/fs2011v.html), only 21.5% of furries identify as “completely” or “mostly homosexual.” So, gay men and women (the fandom is comprised mostly of young white men, as you noticed) are actually in the minority.
An August 2002 Gallup survey (http://www.gallup.com/poll/6961/what-percentage-population-gay.aspx) reported, “The average estimates [for the percentage of homosexuals in America] were that 21% of men are gay and 22% of women are lesbians.” So, as you can see, the percentage of homosexuals in the furry community is quite representative of that in the United States as a whole.
The impression that gay men are a huge majority in the fandom persists, however. Why is that? Papabear believes it is for the same reason that the gay community is so prominent in theatre: gay people tend to be more outgoing and flamboyant. Therefore, they are much more noticeable than straight men and women. Apparently, too, they like to draw a lot more art of a pornographic nature than straight people do (though, actually, some of our best gay porn artists are women, such as that of the Blotch team, which is two female artists).
Papabear would also be interested in finding out what percentage of gay furries are fursuiters, since fursuiters get the most notice and would contribute a lot to the impression of sexual orientation among those in the fandom.
So, there’s your answer, Sphinx. There are no more gay people in the fandom than there are in America, percentage-wise, they just are a lot more noticeable.

Asylum Calling Furries For Documentary, Crafty Talk
As A Non Furry I have to say you guys are pretty cool.
I found out recently that some of my friends wee furries and I was like ummm I have no idea what that is... So I went on to the reddits and found this subreddit full of caring people who are passionate about what they do and look out for one another. I think that is pretty cool! While I love being human and wouldn't want to change that at all I just got say I support you guys cuz I don't think theres much non fury support voiced out there maybe in wrong, idk but just keep on doing what your doing awesome people!
