So I want to make something for Halloween, but I feel that providing the world with yet more Halloween themed art would not be epic enough.

So I got the idea of making a Halloween themed flash game. However, I'm kind of out of ideas. I don't know what to make the game about. Here's some details:

• It's going to be either a sidescroller game, or a top down adventure, unless there's some very awesome idea.
• Must be relatively simple, although there's a lot of time to work on it so we'll see.
• Must be Halloween themed (duh), although simply making the sprites and characters Halloween themed is enough.
• Characters will be some kind of animals or anthros or whatever.
• Can not be multiplayer.
• Must not have advanced physics.
• No 3D
• It will be made with Multimedia Fusion 2.
• It will of course be 100% free to play. I will post it to Deviantart and maybe Kongregate.
• There might or might not be music. I do have FL studio, but I haven't yet learned to use it properly or make music in the first place.
• I can do literally everything by myself so I don't necessarily need any help with the game.

But, I want your help! :) If you have any ideas or suggestions or other thoughts/comments, post here. What kind of game would you like to see/play? What story? What subject? What objective?

Plan/ideas so far (can change, even completely):

Player goes trick or treating with their friend. Then, all of the candy in the world suddenly turns into gold and diamonds, which "ruins Halloween". Then they set off to figure out why, and go to a Halloween party to ask for help. They can ask for different clues. But when the player is done, their friend has disappeared. Turns out they left with someone from the back door and the player goes after them. They can find treasure on the way, so they can get more candy in the end when they turn the treasure back into candy.

I have a fairly decent concept of the game now. I got an idea for the main antagonist, and the reason he took the player's friend, but I don't want to "spoil" it. :)

I've been looking around for a furry or fur-friendly CS:S server to fool around on. I used to play on SmokeyBurr's and Kali-Net, both of which are currently down. Is there anything out there?

I saw a video on here that was really moving and helped me to truly understand some things.... I forget what it's called now, and I'd like your help finding it, /r/furry! It has a guy in it who's always drawing his fursona, Kitsu, who is a ninja wolf, and across from him is the girl he really likes, then at home there's another furry who lives with him, who is a lion. That's really all I remember, can someone find it and link me to it please? Cheers.

Just in case you weren’t already psyched to see a boomerang wielding Easter Bunny and a Santa Clause seemingly designed by San Francisco’s bear community, maybe this extended trailer for DreamWorks Animation’s Rise of the Guardians will do the trick.

However, the gorgeous design, unique premise, and humorous dialogue are just a few of the things Guardians has going for it. The film also has one of the cooler promotional tie-ins I’ve seen.

William Joyce, writer for the film and acclaimed children’s author, created not just one, but five books to tie in to the Guardians film. And true to Joyce’s style, this isn’t a cheap cash in to drum up excitement before the film’s November release (give the man some credit!).

The Guardians of Childhood series is written as if it’s a longstanding book series, based off of the most ancient lore of the associated myths. Three novels and two picture books make up the series, providing background for each of the main heroes, accompanied by an art style different from the film itself (further lending to the narrative that DreamWorks’ film is based on this old series).

While the novels themselves skew a bit young, they provide some amusement, and can be read separately, though the novels are presented as a series.

So if you’re ready to swoon over the hot Australian bunny, or really want to see Santa Clause kick ass, you don’t have to wait until November.

I've been doing some research, and aside from the first con happening the late 1980s, with the fandom's roots in the mid 1970's, I haven't been able to find very early examples of 'modern' furry art (save from some stuff from 1996 from a very sort of fetishy artist.)

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hey everyone! I've been working on a remix for a contest for weeks and voting just opened up!

While I've been getting positive feedback from everyone who's listened, I'm getting beat out on the leaderboards by generic songs from people with larger followings who can just throw a message up on their Facebook page and get hundreds of votes. This being my first remix ever, I don't have any of that.

All I'm asking is AT LEAST take a listen and tell me what you think of my remix, but it'd be so fucking awesome if I could get some votes from some of you. I'll love you all forever! ^

Here’s a nice little YouTube footage I found from Rainfurrest 2012. The dancer wiggling his fur on stage to some banjo folk music is wonderful, but look behind him. You’ll notice the main guy of this video is the one dressed in the brown pajama thingy at the start of the video. He does a little butt hanging followed with some head punches. I like him more at about 1:30sec. in he gets some others to dance with him as well. What ever he was having I want some of it too. I mean not to take away from the guys creditable dancing, I wish I saw him up on stage doing JUST what he is doing here.

WALL OF TEXT WARNING RANT

So I count myself as a casual furry. I've been so since the late 90s. I like the artwork, costuming, hell even the porn to an extent! I’ve been to conventions, meets, and have a number of furry friends in real life. I consider myself a pretty straight edge guy, I don’t dress strangely or go around wearing ears or tail in public. That stuff stays in Cons, festivals, etc. Not meeting up at Denny’s for a movie. I don’t openly advertise my interest in it, but I don’t particularly hide it either. Frankly, I like being perceived as a boring normal dude by most people. I have a decent career in a professional field. I am aware of expected social norms and don’t believe the world should accommodate my peculiar interest. This is what brings me into conflict with nearly every furry I come into contact with.

They all seem to have a twisted “special snowflake” syndrome. They all think the world should have to put up with their stupid fake fluffy personalities, strange appearance, and have no respect for what is expected of a normal human being in a social situation. I can’t stand going to meets of any kind anymore as inevitably there will be some jackass who shows up dressed like they just robbed a Hot Topic and wearing animal parts, while making stupid animal noises throughout the night. And everyone lets it go. I try to be pleasant and a nice guy, but god forbid If I say something;I’m the asshole and should be shunned while others coddle the fool. I can’t stand the constant emphasis on a false sense of “brotherhood”, not to mention furry ‘status’.

As if this is supposed to elevate you in my eyes? You are simply using supposed ‘friends’ for your own personal gain and satisfaction. You are still a basement dwelling neckbeard, with no job, a useless degree field if one at all, and have no ambition in real life. This is the second big thing I hate about most furries I meet. They have no direction in real life. Half of them are content to sit at home and live vicariously on the internet, and the rest seem happy to waste their time at school with no solid idea of what they should be doing, pursuing useless degrees then sitting around working at fast food with a 4 year degree. To be clear, I’m not hating on people aren’t college educated, hell, I am not myself! I just went back to college after years in the workforce. It’s just so few and far between are the ones who have actual jobs and a real living. I’m not mad if you don’t have a job or money, that’s fine…but atleast be TRYING TO DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR LIFE. This may be exacerbated by the town in which I live in now, a college town, dominated by a huge art college.

Also, is a little personal hygiene that fucking hard to ask for? If I can still smell your gross ass after get out my car, then we have an issue. Oh, and stop communicating via text/messaging like your cat walked across the keyboard, it’s not fucking cute. Stop with the stupid emotes and kitty faces after I’ve asked you to for the millionth time.

But after all of this bitching, I still like the community as a whole. I still like cons, and enjoy the weird furry times had at them, and with friends. I still want to participate and hang out with people to talk about the latest works, or act stupid in costumes. But I also want some goddamn friends who know when shit is appropriate, and when it isn’t. Some friends that I can talk to about dog-headed people humping, but be comfortable having a beer with at the local bar and grill.

TL;DR: Getting tired of dealing with social awkward penguins and foul bachelor frogs. Want some goddamn normal people to hang out with, that are also furry.
