Fursona woes!
I hate my fursona, not the species or general characteristics.. but the over all design and color scheme. Does someone want to help me (for money) make my Red Panda character more of a.. character? I feel like she needs a redesign.. But most people on FA only do commissions of pre-designed characters.
So! Do any of you fuzzybutts know a character artist? :D Also I know it's a big project, to me at least, so I'm not going skimpy on the cash here.

This is a nice change of pace, someone asking about Papabear! Well, I could sure use a question like this in my current state of stress and mental disarray, so I am happy to take a break from more serious stuff and answer you.
The bear is sad to say he never learned to play an instrument. I did sing in my school choir (bass, even as a boy), and one time I tried to learn the dulcimer (my wife told me I was hurting her ears, so I stopped), but I never learned to read music or really play.
If I WERE to learn something, I would want to learn the piano. Always loved the piano. My grandfather on my mother's side was a pianist for MGM studios back in the days of the Depression. He even appeared in a couple of films, including a Charlie Chaplin movie in which he gets hit in the face with a pie. I've never found that movie, but the thought of my very stoic Grampa being smooshed in the face with banana cream still makes me smile. I asked him when I was a cub if he would teach me, but his policy was never to teach family members (he never taught my mom, either) because if there was any upset then it could cause family conflict.
So, this is one of the big regrets of my life. I would love to buy a cheap keyboard and try and learn. There is even a nice bear in Palm Springs who gives lessons, but I don't have the money right now to do that.
I think everyone should learn to play something. I feel half illiterate not knowing what the squiggles on a music sheet mean (interesting side note: Paul McCartney never learned, either, and he has to hire people to write down the music he composes).
“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent," said Victor Hugo, and he was so right. Music moves the spirit and nourishes the soul. Music is the universal language that connects us all. The person who does not love music has a tin can where his heart should be.
I'm hoping my life will someday become boring so that I may learn the piano and also get back to my drawing.
I'll probably never get as awesome as this guy, but I'd love to connect to the piano.

I'm looking for a couple Jay Naylor comics. These two are among his few non-yiff works. To be exact, I'm looking for one starring Fluttershy, the pink-haired pegasus mare from My Little Pony, progressively getting more and more drunk.
The other stars Rarity, the white unicorn from the same show. She seems annoyed until the last few frames in which she exclaims "I can't work under these conditions!", walks outside, and offers a tee shirt to a working stallion.

Hundreds of furries converged on the Boise Hotel and Convention Center March 8-10 for the 2013 FurIdaho: Furries In Time and Space Convention.
Furries share an affinity for fictional anthropomorphic animal characters with human personalities. Don’t get it? It’s like an anime convention or Comic-Con, but instead of Sailor Moons and Green Lanterns, attendees are decked out in furry, full-body animal costumes.
The event included an art show, a dealer’s den and a long list of workshops, panels and activities like a parade and the Furry Olympics.

Welcome to Coughcast! Smokey and Istanbul are still trying to shake off the con crud, and the latter has partially lost his voice, so this week’s podcast sounds like a bunch of chain smokers. And yes, this relates to why the show is slow to release this week. Sorry about that! We chatter about Willy Wonka, Smokey shares news on his story-in-progress, and Smokey and Halfwit discuss their new projects. Istanbul talks about the upcoming move of Fuzzy Logic HQ (along with the rest of his stuff), and Kyo shares his story in club-land from hell!
Then we launch into our e-mails, and things get a bit real. One listener shares his stories of loss and asks for thoughts on coping with grief, another talks about dealing with razor burn, and yet another swears to Jebbus (Jebus’ big brother?) at us and then asks the cast about their hygiene issues. We have a discussion about lies of omission and how to explain furry to your family, mention is made about one listener’s less-than-satisfactory experience at Furry Fiesta, and we get an update from MandaKatt about her incredibly slovenly roommates. We even get Neybulot writing in about a ride situation similar to but different from the one mentioned in the last episode!
Next week’s topic is all about family struggles. If you’ve had family, you’ve doubtless had struggles with them, those people who are inextricably linked to you. Write in if you’ve had (or are having) family struggles, or if you have advice to share with them; we’re always eager to offer and receive help on our topic of the week, or any other!
