I'm currently in between jobs, and somewhat new to the furry hobby/interest. I'm looking for an artist who takes comissions that don't cost much at all (not looking for a hand out) that I could afford. I really, really want a fursona, but don't have a lot of cash. Do you know of any artist who charge little, and affordable cost?

Image Comics have announced that the popular first hardcover volume of Richard Starkings’ popular Elephantmen comic book collection will soon be back in print — now in a new Revised and Expanded edition called Wounded Animals. It includes the original “Issue Zero” (with art by Ladronn), a sketch section, a new introduction, and more. Extreme noir science fiction with uplifted animals fighting against and alongside humans for world domination. Hey, the creators insist that it’s not Furry. Check it out and decide for yourself. The new edition (collecting issues 0 – 7) comes back to shelves on May 1st.

Hey guys! I'm currently working on a paper for a Sociology class at my university and decided to write about Furries- mostly because I know hardly anything. A friend of mine has dabbled in this arena and suggested I start out here as a place to learn more. So, here is where I come to you all. I really have no specific questions, I am more so hoping you all could tell me what you might tell other newcomers... And I'm looking to hear about anything and everything! Yes, i know, lol another furry subreddit!
I figured since theres so much furry activity on the west coast why not make a subreddit for it!
Online communities are sort of all over the place and hard to find for new furries. We get a lot of fresh folks on /r/furry all the time, so i thought it would be helpful for finding friends, con buddies/roommates and meets to go to!

Edit: Gosh, no need to downvote this to hell and back just because its another fur subreddit:/. I remember how difficult it was to find friends and meets in my area when I first came to the fandom, im just trying to make it easier for people to get together and enjoy themselves.

I know there aren't very many furries from Maine (if there are any at all X3) but I've noticed there isn't any "official" forum/board for Maine furries, so my friend recently took it upon himself to create one! The board is called Pine Tree Furs, and it's the not-so-official forum for Maine furs. You can find it here: http://pinetreefurs.forumotion.com/ So if you're a furry from Maine, or travels to Maine, come join! right now there are very few people registered, but I'd like very much to see the Maine furry community grow, and I figured this subreddit would be a good place to start reaching out~

Pretty much like the title says. The tufts are too loose and won't hug tight to the core. As well, the knot at the bottom came untied. Does anyone have experience with this?

In a panel at PAX East today, Dean Dodrill, chief creator of Dust: An Elysian Tail and owner of Humble Hearts, announced that he is excited about bringing the previously Xbox Live Arcade exclusive game to the PC. 

He hopes to have the game ready for Steam by as early as April. 

In another not-so-surprising tidbit of news, Dean added that he is definitely thinking about a sequel, stating, "I do have a lot of ideas for Dust 2." 

We'll keep you posted on release announcements, and if anything about a sequel crops up again.

Hey guys.

I'm going to be attending Califur IX with some friends (May 31- June 2) since I attend UCI and it is pretty close; admittedly, it is my first convention I will attend, so I'm a bit lost on some procedures. I will be attending all 3 days.

I figured this would be the best place to ask some questions, so here goes.

As a newbie to conventions...

1. Am I allowed to bring a phone around to take pictures and video of the event? I want to update my Tumblr/facebook/youtube each day at the event.

2. How much money should I bring each day?

3. I'm confused as to how badges are handed out. "PLEASE BRING YOUR BAR CODED CONFIRMATION LETTER AND PHOTO ID ONSITE TO RECEIVE YOUR BADGE. BADGES WILL NOT BE PROVIDED WITHOUT A PRINTED, BAR CODED CONFIRMATION and PHOTO ID." What's the Bar coded confirmation?

4. How should I interact with fursuiters if I want to? Obviously I want to be as careful as possible when doing so and respect them since they seem pretty scorched in those suits.
