I think I might be but not completely? I don't enjoy the full fur suits but when it comes to a woman with animal ears and a tail I go nuts. Is that considered a furry? Are there different levels of furriness or is this something completely different?

Hello /r/furry first off I would like to start off by saying thank you. I've experienced only a slight amount of the possible joys of the fandom and you guys (and gals) have made this a great experience. but now on to the problem. As a younger person (16) in the fandom I have come to a realization that it is hard for me to truly participate in the activities I would like to attend. Such as cons my age playing a big part in not being able to find someone to room with which is understandable, no car so never being able to go to any meets and it's starting to bum me out. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know of any solutions?

I'm curious.

As for myself, well... I know this probably sounds like something straight out of a soap opera, but... The fandom is the reason I'm alive.

At first, I'll admit it: I joined it for the porn. It ate up a good 40% of my free time. But, the last ten months have been hell for me.

It started off when I was forced to end a relationship in the most harsh way my parents could think of, all because they're against homosexuality, and refuse to live with a "faggot." It left me in a suicidal state, and within two weeks, I had it all planned out. I thought I'd just spend a night on omegle, you know, before ending it all. But then, I met a girl, who... Well, she was sweeter than anyone I've known before that point. She talked me out of it, and within a month, I was no longer suicidal. She and I were speaking no less than three hours a day. She and I helped each other expand our connections with others, and though she and I haven't spoken to each other in about two months, I have a good feeling she's doing great right now.

Time passed, and now, I stand here with a bunch of friends, all who I've met through the furry world, happier than ever.

So last night my friend found out I was a free when I invited him to a minecraft server and someone mentioned me being a furry. Later that night he turned into a complete judgemental asshole doing Google searches talking about how like some pole says about 27 percent of us are homosexual. In general he was a huge fucking asshole for the rest of the night. This morning I basically told him to fuck off because, and these are his exact words, "true friends stick by us till the end." I really don't know what to do from here because he has some of my stuff and he probably won't give it back.
