FC-151 Arrest Proof
What type of fursuiting videos would you like to see?
Aside from dancing, unboxing, and educational stuff.
I've been looking on youtube for fursuit videos and that seems to be all there is. Can you link me to fursuit vids that aren't dancing, educational, or unboxing?
And are there any videos you'd like to see? I was thinking just maybe some really simple videos where it's just a fursuit doing some mundane everyday activity. That'd be interesting to see. What about you?

Friends of /r/furry, how did you "stumble upon/find/etc." the furry fandom?
For me, I have a buddy who is big into it, and he introduced me to it. Pretty boring, I know.

Contribution guidelines to ease Flayrah’s editing bottleneck
When Fox Lost Her Heart
New in hardcover this month from Toon Books is a full-color graphic story for younger readers called simply Hearts — written and illustrated by Thereza Rowe. “When Penelope the Fox drops her heart into the sea, she’s swept off on a perilous journey, dodging sharks and royal cat-guards until a cartwheeling chicken leads her to the land of lost things.” It’s available at Amazon, or you can visit Thereza’s web site to see more of her modernistic anthro designs.
Season 2 launch update
The only downside is that episodes will have to be manually edited and uploaded to YouTube, so I'm also testing new editing software to help out with that aspect. Hardware wise, my desktop is performing well. Thanks to OBS, we're now able to add as many cameras as we fucking want... I just need to add more USBs to my machine, which should be fairly cheap to do. I found out that OBS can do Chroma key (green/blue screen stuff), which is pretty neat. We'll be making good use of that once we can get something green to hang on the wall.
Furstre.am has an integrated chat, but I'm still going to stress using the Anthrochat IRC channel since it's easier to access and we've got more control of it. The format is going to be streamlined slightly to work better with the software, and we'll be adding a bit more interesting stuff while cutting down on the less interesting stuff. The audio-only stream will be up for bandwidth challenged. Also, my fursuit will be done around the end of July so yeah. Shout out to Darkpaw.
Want to help out? Submit artwork, news, topics, suggestions, art, or your own show segment* to strikepaw.studios@gmail.com. As always, donations can be made to thecheguar@gmail.com via paypal.
*segments will need to be kept under 15min with some exceptions, and remain relatively SFW. I recommend using Google Drive and emailing a link.
Boring technical stuff below the cut.
We are currently looking for another co-host, as well as an assistant producer in the Ottumwa/Bloomfield aria. The assistant producer will help with post-production, preparing and uploading episodes to YouTube, monitoring the chat/email, and helping to keep this site up to date.
Here's some of the studio (hardware) improvements I'm looking at in the short term:
- Webcam #2
- USB 3.0 card
- 10-USB 2.0 thing
- New mic cables! (current cables are going bad)
I'd also like to work out some sort of podcast style hosting for archiving the show in both video and audio-only formats, though it may not be in our budget.
Longer term, as in a year or more:
- Second VGA card
- Additional 20" Monitor
- Small HDMI TV for main feed monitoring
- Midi Controls*
- HD Camcorder
Longest term (2+ years), I'd like to have a secondary studio computer to handle auxiliary A/V stuff, and possibly a couple cheap netbooks so the guys can read news and interact with chat without blocking the camera.

Furry Artist Wants to Take on Non-X Commissions
I've been drawing since I was ten, and I keep improving more and more. I do trades and art raffles online, and people are generally pleased with what I draw for them.
Lately, I've begun to develop a "if I'm good at something, I shouldn't do it for free" mentality. I'd like to open commissions, because I would like to gain experience in selling art. I'm not the best artist, but I'm better than many. I've seen with less skill than me (and I don't mean than in a condescending way) do commissions for people, so why can't I?
Anyway, I would like to get my foot through the door of commissions but the problem is that it seems like the yiff and fetish artists are the ones that seem to get the most customers and I don't want to draw yiff. I don't want to draw it because I just don't feel comfortable doing it.
I'm able to draw tame(ish) fetish related art and pinups, however, if people really want me to. I'm just afraid that people will get turned off to me as an artist because I don't want to draw yiff.
Is there a way for me to get my paw in the door of commissions without drawing yiff?
Sincerely,
Caleb (age 18)

Dear Caleb,
I agree that if you have a skill you should be able to make an income using those skills. Knowing other artists, I also have to regrettably agree that there is a higher demand for furporn than pretty much anything else out there, and I do know of artists who draw it only because they can’t make money drawing G or PG stuff.
There are a couple other ways you can still go that are still very popular with many furries, however. One is to specialize as a badge designer. It is rare to see a furcon attendee without one of these badges, and sometimes more. I have about 10 of them myself :-) You don't make a lot per badge, but they are quick to draw so you can make up with quantity what you lack in price per badge.
Second, and kind of related to the above, is character reference sheets. These are in demand by people who want to have fursuits made for them (below is a copy of the one I had done for my Grubbs Grizzly fursuit).
Another medium that is very popular is furry comics. And many of these are clean. Some furry artists who are popular with their porn have also managed to be popular with clean furry comics and graphic novels. One that comes to mind is Blotch (actually a female team of artists). If you are unsure of your writing skills, or simply have no interest in writing, there are lots of furry writers out there who are seeking a good illustrator to collaborate with (I know of one very close to me who is still looking for one).
So, there are three ideas where you can be paid as an artist to do non-furporn art that is still very popular with furries. Hope that helps!!!
Hugs,

I too want to be a commission worthy artist. Thing is my laptop's USB ports are shot. I can get my tablet to work a few times a month for maybe a couple of hours.
By now you’re probably thinking, “Why not just get a job?” I’m not gonna get into full detail about it but working isn’t an option for me right now. If you really want to know why, you can ask me.
So here’s the big idea:
If you should happen to have a dollar to spare, give me a thing to draw and I’ll do it.
My paypal email is erynskeeper@live.com
I’ll draw just about anything, or at least try to. I'll fight my laptop and make it work until I can afford a new computer.
I know they're expensive and this is quite a long shot but I have other commission ideas coming up. This is only the beginning. By the end of this I hope to have improved my art style greatly and also learn to manage my time more wisely.
Here as some random things I drew:
This is the example I posted on my tumblr
If this whole thing flops, then at least I tried.
