Make ‘Em Laugh
Everyone has been talking about Disney+, the Mouse House’s new attempt to enter the streaming content market in a big way — looking to take on Netflix, Hulu, and all the rest. Well now Animation World Network has let us know about about a new animated series for Disney+ with a very familiar furry angle. “Billy Crystal and John Goodman will reprise their beloved roles as Mike and Sulley in Monsters At Work, a new animated series for families set to premiere on Disney+ in 2020. Produced by Disney Television Animation and inspired by the world of Disney and Pixar’s Academy Award-winning Monsters, Inc., the series picks up six months after the original movie’s story, with the Monsters, Inc. power plant now harvesting the laughter of children to fuel the city of Monstropolis, thanks to Mike and Sulley’s discovery that laughter generates ten times more energy than screams. Monsters At Work follows Tylor Tuskmon (voiced by Ben Feldman), an eager and talented young mechanic on the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team (MIFT) who dreams of working his way up to the factory Laugh Floor to become a Jokester alongside his idols Mike and Sulley.” As the article points out, the voice cast includes a lot more familiar and talented names too.
Missio: I See You
Yes, I too strap my "Human" mask on when I go to work. "Even the cutest and fuzziest of folks feel like they don't fit it. And how many of us feel like we need to strap on that awkward human face just to go be around others?! Don't forget, there is always another fuzzy creature out there ambling around with their human face on too."

Fantastic Animals
More from this year’s WonderCon. Devin Elle Kurtz is a visual development artist, illustrator, and background painter from California. She has made a name for herself as a freelance illustrator who regularly takes her pictures of children and animals into the realm of Fine Art. That includes her fan art of, among other things, Pokemon — like none you have ever seen before. Visit her web site and see what we mean. Look for her at conventions along the West Coast too.
This Game Is For The Birds!
Sorry, sorry… Humblewood is a new campaign setting for the Dungeons & Dragons 5E role-playing system, created by Hit Point Press. It made headlines because they recently completed a very successful Kickstarter campaign — to the tune of more than a million dollars. And why do we care about it here? Probably because it includes several new anthropomorphic bird bird and mammal species that can be used as player characters. The Kickstarter page is still up, so check out the preview and see what we mean!
Too Chicken To Fly?
Animation World Network let us know about a new European animated firm called Ploey. Unlike the usual animated film we whine about, this one seems to have already found US distribution! “When a young flightless plover chick named Ploey gets separated from his family, he must undertake a dangerous journey to a legendary valley in order to save his loved ones from falling prey to an evil falcon… A co-production between the animation division of Iceland’s GunHil‘s and Belgium-based studio Cyborn, Ploey is written by Friðrik Erlingsson and directed by Árni Ásgeirsson. The CG animated feature is set to take wing in the U.S. in April both on DirecTV and in theaters.” The article includes more artwork and clips. Seems like it’ll be flying in soon!
The Fandom
Ash Coyote with Eric Risher have a full on 7 part documentary mini series on the Fandom that is both well shot and edited that thoughtfully covers a bunch of aspects of the fandom. This is well worth a watch and here I have the first 4 episodes listed here. It's great to see greater levels of video production coming directly out of the fandom that is really makes this old furry video nerd happy. They have a kickstarter to fund a full on feature film here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/furryfilm/the-fandom-0 [1] https://www.thefandomfilm.com/ [2] https://youtu.be/c6ycAbsyBag https://youtu.be/yUAQPOveDXk https://youtu.be/a-VaDw9xUCg [1] https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/furryfilm/the-fandom-0 [2] https://www.thefandomfilm.com/

The Lion King Official Trailer
It does look like they are hedging on how the talking works in this film. At least they are de-emphasizing the movements to avoid some uncanny valley. As a Lion King fanatic (TLKIAWOL [1]) i'm seriously mixed on this project. It feels like some sort of shot-for-shot cover of a movie. The music still gives me chills and I'm gonna go see it. From the Pawsup Project [1] putting out a video in hopes of cheering up people. The Dragon is Ohana
Another artist we ran into at WonderCon: Denae Frazier. She does fine art and pin-ups on many subjects both fannish and “mundane”, but what really caught our eye right off the bat was her affinity for both Disney’s Stitch (of Lilo & Stitch) and Dreamworks’ Toothless (of How to Train Your Dragon)… individually, and together! (Has she met Chris Sanders? Probably!) In fact she’s complete so many pictures of those two together that she created a calendar for 2020 featuring those prints. Check out her web site to see those and more.
NSFW: Duke Doberman
What an impressive Dobermen! Well... I think I'll go cool off now. (It's Impressive all the video production techniques modern fursuiters get up to.)

The Man With Patience
You may recall about three years ago when we introduced you to Charles Thurston and his hand-made books for young kids, introducing them to various nerdy topics and story settings. Well we ran into Mr. Thurston at WonderCon and discovered his latest project: Detailed artwork created entirely with hand-cut pieces of paper. A very, very time-consuming way to create — and he does it well. Fortunately for us, many of his works are also available in less-fragile print versions. Visit his web site to see what we mean.

Here is a new short from The Blue Wolf Studios [1]... Oh crap, my allergies are kicking up again and making my eyes water... Yeah, that's the reason. "Friendships come in all shapes and sizes, even between a bird and a plant dog." [1] https://twitter.com/bluewolfanimate
