Global Furry Television - Sun 19 May 2019 - 09:51

Since February, the rebrand to GFTV brought about numerous experiments – the most notable and biggest one being GFTV FurWave, where it is the GFTV’s attempt to establish a radio station of its own to become more available on more platforms. On the 2nd of March 2019, the first experimental broadcast of GFTV FurWave debuted […]

Global Furry Television - Sat 18 May 2019 - 08:20
In the past 8 months, HRSMA’s broadcasting wing, the Global Furry Television (GFTV), has grown a lot since inaguration into the furry fandom, so much so that it is bigger than the parent associations HRSMA (Henrusian Mascot Association) and sister association OFA (Octonauts Fandom Association) combined – with a robust infrastructure, solid regional reach and […]

Film 2019

Furry.Today - Fri 17 May 2019 - 12:00

This is a cute little "My dog ate my homework" student film from Calarts this year.   What I love about this short is the classic unfinished look and the fact the animator actually calls himself a furry.  We really have come a long way.

The Bears’ Famous Invasion

Furry.Today - Thu 16 May 2019 - 23:38

New french animated film from Lorenzo Mattotti and Prima Linea Productions. We probably wont be seeing an Englishcopy of this film for some time but it does look real interesting. Update: I stand corrected, according to Prima Linea:  "But yes you probably will be able to watch it in English copy this year !!! At Cannes on next Tuesday it’s english sub-titled..." "To find his long lost son and food to survive the winter, the great bear king leads his clan down from the mountains and into the world of men. After escaping terrible monsters and defeating an evil duke, the bears and men live together in peace – for a time."

Murder Most Fluffy

In-Fur-Nation - Tue 14 May 2019 - 01:34

Dunno how we missed this one, but… here’s more dark, distressing oddness from Source Point Press. “Torsobear: Yarns From Toyburg is a collection of 12 grisly crime yarns, written in the style of old film noir and set in a world of toys. In the fluffy-noir world of Toyburg, some toys just don’t play nice… Dismembered teddy bears are being found in the back alleys of this sweet city. It’s up to our hero, rookie detective Ruxby Bear, and his partner, Officer Hazbrow to solve the string of murders, no matter how high and far the clues take them.” No description of who wrote or drew it, but they’re up to Volume 3 of this trade paperback series.

New Take on an Old… Well Actually, Young Iguana

In-Fur-Nation - Mon 13 May 2019 - 01:55

We got this direct from Animation World Network: “Hoho Entertainment has announced they have joined forces with JLI to co-develop and co-produce a brand-new animated preschool series based on the Latin heritage brand Juana la Iguana. In the new series, Juana becomes mentor and guide to youngsters Amazonas and Miguel. She leads them on exciting adventures as they discover the magic and wonder of Estrella Island. Juana shows the kids that kindness and compassion are the problem-solving tools needed to overcome any difficulty.  Heritage brand Juana la Iguana has been a favorite in Latin America for over 20 years. The original Spanish-language character show was created by Tania Gilinski, along with partners Amanda Quijano and Anita Katz – the three Latin American mothers wanted to create a program for children that incorporated both culture and values. The Juana the Iguana series began as three home videos, one of which was second only to The Lion King in sales in Venezuela. It was then picked up by national TV and became a smash hit in home and neighboring Latin America territories.” No word yet on North American distribution for this new series, but we assume the producers would love that.

Walter

Furry.Today - Fri 10 May 2019 - 19:42

This is a CalArts graduation film by Lorenzo Fresta and I gotta say the guy is channeling early 80s anime so well with this 2D animated film.   If he did this fully in a computer then I take my hat off to him for nailing the look so well. Also, that's one way of collecting water I had never thought of before. "A lonely toad rides his bike around the desert, looking for something..."

Does Stitch Know?

In-Fur-Nation - Fri 10 May 2019 - 13:42

More stuff we found at WonderCon this year. Ohana Bears are the creation of “Hawaii’s own internationally renown award winning artist/designer: Bo Bergemann”. So says their web site. The cute Hawaiian bear art is available on various apparel, mugs, phone covers, and other products. And: They’re about to release a brand new plush toy based on their star character, Mahalo Bear.
