I'm unable to look at any other pornography other than Furry stuff. Advice?
Hi, so I'm a gay male, and was only ever exposed to furry porn growing up (Yes I discovered furaffinity before normal porn.) The thing is, when I go to look at the real life porn, I simply cannot watch it. For whatever reason I just turn away. Is it because I just have to get used to it, maybe force myself through a couple of vids? I get an embarrassed and silly feeling when looking at it, like a kid who'd seen his first bare boobs or something.
It'd be great to hear from someone who's familiar with this situation, it's just so strange that I almost feel silly asking about it.

A newcomer asking about fursonas.
Hello /r/furry!
I have been a furry for quite some time, and this is the first time i'm doing an account specifically for the hobby (Actually my first reddit account). I love the art and sketches of the furry community, and i have found that watching people fursuit and do other things at furcons gives me a very positive and a good, happy feeling.
I know there are topics about fursonas, how to create one, how to learn to draw one, etc. But through the time it has still been a mystery to me: are fursonas "required" in the furry community? I can imagine a dialogue between me and a random fur in omegle that has happened:
Me- Hi
Stranger- Hi, asfo?
Me- I dont actually have a fursona at the moment =<
Stranger has disconnected.
I have little doubt that there are very open-minded people here. But could someone possibly tell from his own experience/"from the inside" how getting a fursona affected them, how they went through the process, or did it feel like the atmosphere changed?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Thanks for the supportive comments, it seems like i overreacted. Possibly for not owning any skills to draw or make pretty much anything.
I just remembered a question that bothered me but i didn't remember it the first time doing the post: Is it completely free to use an artists pictures as an avatar or a spray, for example in Steam? (Of course not if the artist specially says not to, but otherwise?)

Nothing like an awkward moment to start the day.
Any tips for browsing FA?
The search system confuses me, I'm used the much more straight forward Tag and search system on sofurry.

Furries at CSUSM?
Any furries out there at Cal State San Marcos? It'd be cool to hang out together once school starts next week.

Furry WoW players?
Hey all, I'm a newbie WoW player (I just started a few months ago), and I was wondering if anyone else plays? I'm currently a level 42 Alliance Pandaran hunter. Add me as ShadowFox #1582, or CutoutFox in game.

A random question
So I have another slightly unusual question, being new-ish to the fandom (long-time lurker, only just jumped aboard. You may or may not remember my post on here about music a few weeks ago).
I'm in the process of sorting out my 'sona, and I've had a picture in my camera roll/gallery for quite a while that I'm very attached to.
My question is how acceptable is it to base my 'sona's refs and images from an image I stumbled across online, and use that same picture as my ref for commissions in the meantime? I've done a reverse image search on it, and I can't really find the artist, and it doesn't seem very popular, but I'm painfully aware that someone may have this same image as their fursona, and of course, the heaping masses of generic foxes already out there.
For anyone interested here is the original image in question.
Thanks again for your help.
EDIT: Very poorly worded post getting me in trouble.
tl;dr: Can I use Falvie's art as a visual reference to help artists commission my first 'sona?

Coco, ULTIMATE FORM! [Anime Screengrab]
Any other SoCal Furry Conventions?
I'm down in the San Diego area and the only 'local' furry convention I know about is Califur and Further Confusion. Which, unfortunately Further Confusion is a bit too far for me.
I'm looking into getting a dealer's table at Califur next year but wanted to know if there are any furry conventions I could attend, to add to my con circuit. And also to finally try and socialize a little more.
I've tried just googling, but I think my google-fu is weak and has returned no further results.

The Unkindest Cut of All
Another one of those “How did we miss this?” things. We’ll just put up the official description of Dog & Scissors for starters: “Harumi Kazuhito was the ultimate bookworm, spending days at a time with his head buried in his beloved books, and little could make him happier than perusing the pages of his favorite author, Kirihime Natsuno. Unfortunately, Harumi’s life goes to the dogs – literally – when he gets himself killed while trying to stop a robber! Thanks to the power of a true bookworm, however, Harumi inexplicably finds himself reincarnated as a dog… which might not be so bad if dogs could read. Or if the woman who adopts him didn’t have twin predilections for playing with scissors and tormenting her new pet! But what truly makes this strange reincarnation the worst of all possible worlds is that she’s also his favorite author!” Based on the light novel series written by Shunsuke Sarai and illustrated by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima, all 12 episodes of Dog & Scissors the anime series have been released to DVD by Crunchroll. They’re also streaming the episodes on line at their web site.
Any Furs at Truman State?
I'm just wondering if there are any furs here at Truman State University! If there are, we should chill and sfuff, that would be cool!
