‘Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS’ full roster revealed
Sorta new furry here! :3
Ok well....sorta new furry you say? I've loved the art style, usually the non-porn stuff though, and I've always thought it was cool to be part animal when I was younger. I'm really trying to make new friends mostly since I'm terrible at making them. I'm really shy and I don't have a fursona sorry >: but I do like to game and like anime, I don't watch it all that often though, and I'm really awkward! I'm not much of a talker at first but once I warm up to someone I won't shut up XD. Hmm...I'm not sure what to really put honestly since I've never really had to introduce myself. Also I can be really derp sometimes but it's all in good fun! Please be gentle guys!~ I wasn't sure if I could put an introductory submission, I had an account to reddit but I never ever used it and can't remember why I had one in the first place but figured now's a good time to use it. Oh yeah I love to cosplay and live in Texas! I haven't gone to a convention in almost 2 years and haven't made a new cosplay in almost 4 years now I think...? I really would love to go into fursuiting once I have the funds and space to. waves at everyone Nice to meet you lovely bunch!

Out! Out! Damned Spotty Cat…
The Stratford Zoo Midnight Revue Presents Macbeth. A title like that is gonna catch your attention, yes? Thought so. According to the publishers, “The Stratford Zoo looks like a normal zoo… until the gates shut at night. That’s when the animals come out of their cages to stage elaborate performances of Shakespeare’s greatest works. They might not be the most accomplished thespians, but they’ve got what counts: Heart. Also fangs, feathers, scales, and tails, in The Stratford Zoo Midnight Revue Presents Macbeth. Ian Lendler’s hilarious tale of after-hours animal stagecraft is perfectly paired with the adorable, accessible artwork of Zack Giallongo (Broxo, Ewoks). And with Romeo and Juliet coming in book two, this is a promising new series of graphic novels for young readers.” The book is coming out later this month in hardcover and trade paperback editions, both from First Second.

…I just have no idea.
Can anyone give me feedback on a new colour technique I am using? I am pretty happy with it but I need opinions on it
Curious and Confused
TL;DR Anyone else get turned on by anthros[0], but turned off by all explicit art of them?
Disclaimer: I kinda wanted to put this in /r/yiff, as that's more pertinent to the subject at hand, but there seems to be a 0% chance of this kind of discussion taking place over there. I have done my best to keep all language appropriate and tame.
Hi, I've noticed there's an occasional trend on this sub-reddit of new users reaching out to see if there are "any more people like them." I will now, to my slight chagrin, deviate from my standard stoic solidarity[1] and attempt to do the same.
I'm not exactly in search of friends, and I certainly don't feel a strong desire to be re-assured that I'm not a freak. I'm actually quite comfortable with myself—and my quirky tastes—whatever they may be. I'm more concerned with the fact that I can't seem to pin down what those tastes are. Thus, I seek advice from any guys, girls, or fluffballs who have found themselves in a similar situation. Perhaps you or a friend have some experience that will help. If not, feel free to chime in with your thoughts anyways.
ahem
When I was younger, my first crush was on Simba[2]. It's weird to describe it as a Crush, but I stayed up at night in my little kid bed, squeezing my little lion plushie, devoutly wishing that he could come to life and snuggle with me. He was adorable, he was talented (I learned later that I really dig guys who can sing), and he was powerful.
Fast forward a few years, and I've had similar reactions to many characters. Kovu[3], Toothless, Charizard, The Tramp, Copper, Rainbow Dash, Pikachu, Twilight Sparkle, Bolt[4] the Wonder Dog, the list just goes on and on... The feeling is always similar to elementary school / middle school "Crushes."
Eventually in my riveting, fast-paced life of lounging about the internet, I stumbled upon some rather surprising artwork of these characters. Seeing these friendly and familiar faces in a whole new light was slightly exhilarating, and rather arousing. Unfortunately, I didn't exactly find the pictures themselves erotic. I am, apparently, completely turned off by the physical depiction of non-humans with genitalia. This has proved quite frustrating.
To put this into a bit of perspective, I've struggled to find suitable pr0n5 for most of my life. I'm quite into the dudes, but guys in porn always seem to express negative amounts of authentic emotions or realistic expression. It's like watching animatrons go at it, which—while not exactly a turn-off—isn't very exciting. Now, here was a chance to take characters that I was already quite attached to, and that normally already had very sexy human voices, and use that as a foundation for enjoying some more sensual artwork. Unfortunately, even though many others seem to have had that exact same line of thought, it just hasn't worked out for me.
One final stab at explaining the predicament: Picture this. Imagine a picture of some attractive being staring sheepishly at you from a compromising picture. Everything about the scene, perhaps even the emotions in the being's face and body language comes across as erotic, and is rather arousing. Unfortunately, looking at the naughty bits in the picture (which still feels like the natural progression) completely spoils the mood. What. Do. ?
I have found some solace in soft core fan-fiction, as silly as that sounds. It's not really enough for alone-at-night-fun-times, but it is gratifying in a subtle way. Perhaps this whole thing is a phase I'll grow out of, but I've been growing for a while now and not a lot has changed.
Discuss?
EDIT: It's not really just the naught-bits that are a turn off really. Anything that involves making the anthro more realistic is problematic. For example, loosely imagining two wolf characters kissing is kinda hot. Actually thinking about what their muzzles would really feel like creeps me out. It's a meandering and annoying line.
[0] I swear I am not a troll, and that I mean no offense. I do not imply that yiffing is the point of this fandom, and I acknowledge that making a throw-away exclusively to discuss a sensitive topic might rub people the wrong way :( Serious-apologetic-cover-my-bases-mode disengaged!
[1] I'm am not actually solitary, stoic, or standard. Those words just sound cool together.
[2] Goodness. The number of friends who could identify me from this fact alone is petrifying. I sincerely hope that The Lion King was popular enough with everyone else here that my anonymity is safe.
[3] Seriously, Kovu was the shit. I tried to go by Kovu for a while, but it never caught on. Although, some guys at my school used it for a while when I told them it meant "scar" in Swahili.
[4] Bolt is freaking adorable. That is the only movie that's brought me to tears; he was so brave. Shout-outs also to that episode of Pokemon where Ash almost abandoned Pikachu.
[5] My goodness it feels weird talking about this so openly. I half expect my deceased grandmother to pop up behind me with a very very stern eyebrow raised. Talk about turn-offs.

A monthly theme? o:
Maybe to encourage more art (writing, music, drawing, etc.), we can have monthly theme drawings? It'd be fun to have a community creation exhibition type thing!
Maybe something like "This month: Roboticize your character".
Of course all artwork should be SFW so as not to exclude any members, but I think it could be a fun idea!
Any thoughts?
EDIT: This idea has gotten overwhelming positive feedback! I think tomorrow I might light a few candles and summon a Mod to see if we can further this idea. Right now it's late for me, but tomorrow I'll get on this!
