What parts of the fandom do you folks find strange or unsettling?

Has anyone ever used one of those machines that take a picture and draw you? Have you tried it with a fursuit?
I remember some popular restaurants with an arcade machines and all sorts of things and these certain machines take your picture for like a dollar and redraw it in pencil and prints it out for you. I was wondering if it worked for a fursuit aswell. It'd be neat

Maddy Kettle: The Adventure of the Thimblewitch – book review by Fred Patten.
1 Threat(s) Detected. Not really 'furry', but I'd love some feedback on a song that'll hopefully go on my furry album.

Question for those furs who have told close friends.
First off, bear with me (no pun intended) on spelling/grammatical errors, I'm writing on a phone as my roommate's asleep.
The actual question I have is about "coming out" (would you even call it that?) to close friends about being a furry. I'll try to ask it by way of example, because I'm finding it difficult to phrase.
All of my close friends know, the sort of people that I know I can trust. These are the people you can get drunk with and not worry about what you say. Obviously I wouldn't expect them to enjoy or agree with everything I do, and goodness knows I don't enjoy or agree with everything they do. But every time I've told any of said friends, the reaction is always the same: rapidly extinguished amused tolerance. This includes the VERY open gay friend whose second favorite hobby is talking about sex, FFS. Now, we talk plenty about other lifestyles, fandoms; we joke about one of their girlfriends being a lesbian (she admitted she is, so this isn't an insult or anything), often when drunk people start watching porn and it's considered normal, hell, at one New Years party I was dared to simply strip because the other guys had ended up naked from drunken games, and I was sober (I did agree). In effect, being car guys is its own huge (although more socially acceptable) fandom, and that's a very common thread. But there's always the one taboo subject- it gets a curt acknowledgement and then dropped like a rock until the next curt acknowledgement.
Because of this, it's become very private, even embarrassing, for me. I've never sought any other furs out, on the occasion friends end up looking at porn my screen tends to be tilted away out of deference, etc. I have an alt account to reddit for just this purpose (after a significant time lurking). No, I've never been the one to seek previously said acknowledgment. The first occasion was an answer to truth or dare years ago that they requested I expand on until I literally said "I'm a furry," at which point the buck stopped with a "well, I give you credit for admitting it." Most situations have been similar.
So, I guess in essence I'm wondering what other's experiences have been with their close friends. Acceptance, neutrality, repulsion? Did you feel the odd one out, set aside because of it? Did it seem like they didn't want to accept a part of your personality?
Please note I'm not looking for sympathy, and if this comes off as more of a rant I can swap it to something like /r/OffMyChest. I do love all my friends regardless of any of this, I just wanted to see if what I've experienced is common or not, and what other's stories are.
TL;DR: ...I don't think I can sum this up meaningfully.
PS, sorry for the wall of text. Tried to keep it succinct... Guess that's why I don't have problems meeting paper length targets!

John and Aaron, Bastards Extraordinaire sketch
Freddy’s Back! (The OTHER One!)
After what can only be called a very successful year in 2014, Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon has announced that Part 3 is in development and will be released very soon for computers and a variety of mobile devices. According to an article at Cinema Blend, this new chapter takes place 30 years after the horrific events of Five Nights at Freddy’s 1 and 2 have resulted in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza being shut down and demolished. But now, someone has come up with the bright idea of building a brand new theme park attraction based on Freddy Fazbear’s! Even better, they decide to use some of the old parts from the original animatronic characters for this new dark ride. As you can imagine, things don’t go as planned… No word yet on a precise release date, but the article does feature a very creepy teaser trailer for the new game.
How does one know if they are a Furry and can you have more than one animal you identify with?
As the above title states how do you know you are one? Is it as simple as loving the anthro art? Or more like loving a favourite animal (s) and you actually share some traits mentally in a way?
Say you actually get the urge to sniff and lick thingsm or you find youraelf kneading or growling or acting in a way similar to the animal?
Can you identify with more than one animal? Can your sona be a mix of the two? Does it have to be?
I am very confused about it all and would like some information. I dont know if I am one or identify or not.
Do lycans or weres fit into this?

There needs to be more love for historical furry artwork. I humbly present to you the groundbreaking illustrations of Louis Wain!
A lot of you don't have access to scanners, so I put together a quick thing to help you get presentable photos.
Getting a decent photo of your art isn't just a point and click
***I'm sorry, my typing skills were very poor it seems, tends to happen when I use a font I'm not used to.... There are typos here but I hope the point came across.
It's incredibly important to keep in mind. You could draw something incredible, but if your photo quality is bad, many people wont even glance. Getting a decent photo isn't even that hard, but it requires a bit more effort than slapping your page in your lap and hoping for the best.
LunaPic is something I literally just googled, I was searching for any free programs that have a brightness/contrast editor. LunaPic allows you to upload an image and edit it directly on the site. INCREDIBLY USEFUL, PLEASE USE.
If it doesn't work, I got a huge number of results, so give it a look.
I want all of you to have your chance to shine, please take the time to try this! It will help so much!
PS - A number of people downvote poor-quality photo art here so...yeah.
