I hate how this sub is generally so awesome but at the same time so defensive. Somebody dares to say yiff is a bigger part of the fandom than most of you make it out to be, OH MY GOD BRING ON THE DOWNVOTES AND THE †. Someone broke your thing? OH MY GOD SUE HIM. NO CONTEXT NEEDED!! SUE THE BASTARD HE IS MOST OBVIOUSLY AT FAULT. Oh someone happens to like human genitalia or animal genitalia (I myself have ranted about human genitalia being strange.) more? Bring on the downvotes. That is all.

Hey guys, this is my first time really posting anything about this so I'm a bit nervous and not even sure where to start with this. I feel like I might belong here but I'm just to afraid to admit it. I've been following the subreddit for a while but I was actually too embarassed to even press the subscribe button. Sorry if this post offends anyone, I promise it is not intentional. I just need some guidance.

It's weird too because it's been something that's just been coming up more and more frequently lately and I'm not really sure what to do about it. I often just feel like I'd be so much more comfortable as an animal, a fox in particular, like I feel like that's just something I identify with so much more. I can barely explain it even to you guys that's how weird I feel about it, it just doesn't seem right to me. Maybe it's because of my parents, they've never really supported any of my decisions for most stuff, let alone something like this.

I just want to hear everyone else's stories and maybe see where I fit in and that I'm not alone. I know this isn't something I should be embarassed about because it's who I am, it's just that society doesn't really look up to the idea that you're not like the rest of them.

So please, share with me everything and everything and maybe I can make some new friends with common interests and feelings! :) I love sharing pictures and just talking about anything!

Also I wasn't sure if there was a subreddit for newbies like me but I want to do whatever I can to join the community, so let me know if I'm in the completely wrong place.

I am going to be getting my first "growly" fursuit in the next week or so, and while I know the character pretty well and the character would work well in cosplay/Halloween type events, I don't know if he would work well at Furry cons.

For those of you with "growly" suits (Demons, Skull Demons, any type of suit that isn't cute and cuddly), how do you change your character at Furry cons? Do you act as you are approached (IE someone tenatively approaches you, acting nervous, the growly side comes out) or do you totally change the character to a more cuddly character?

(Just to give you an idea what I am working with, here is the latest WIP of the head)

Been in the fandom for a few years now. I like having a fursona and being able to socialize with....the more down to earth.....furry people as a result of having a character. I really like getting high quality art with friends, I sometimes get NSFW art. Badges are my favorite thing to commission. I even very subtly advertise my interest in the fandom.

But some of y'all make me cringe the fuck out. I'm not going to give examples, I don't want to hurt anyone. Sometimes its uncomfortable or simply ugly art, other times its just the appearance of an individual. I'm sorry, hahah, its just the way it is. Open to discussion, as it should be. At ease.
