Charity Updates

PapaBarks

As we speak, the people behind Papa Barks are hard at work to raise money for ALS. And I am happy to be a part of it. While my counter is still at $110 and I hope to raise that in the upcoming 2 weeks, adding to already enormous amount raised: as we are recording this video it is $22,532.41! Please do join me on Monday 29th of July and the 5th of August or the many other awesome streamers up to August 11th!

AnthroCon

Newscaster: While the furries help out their own four legged friends, as Anthrocon broke a fundraising record over the weekend. The nonprofit organization chooses a local charity every year in our area with the aim to give back through the convention

A highlight for many, one of the longest running conventions in the furry fandom: Anthrocon had 17,639 attendees raising over $100,000 for Grey Paws sanctuary. An organisation devoted to provide a loving home for senior dogs from local shelters, humane officers, animal control and other rescues.

Sherbert Transnanigans 2

One of the more known forces for LGBTQ rights is Sherbert, who is tirelessly fighting to raise money for various pride related charities despite a very tumultuous life, truly an inspiration for us all. With Sherbert Transnanigans part 2 they have raised $2,500 for Point of Pride.

Brasil Furfest

From sunny Brasil we have Brasil Furfest where 1,121 wonderful attendees once again placed this convention on the world map by raising $5,520 for SOS Vida Pet Litoral, organisation that started out from a group of friends with their mutual passion
for animals, trying to be there for animals that need help the most.

Eufuria

What started out as a day at the local cafe, grew into a multiday convention: Eufuria. A whopping 430 critters came together and raised $1,742 Capital NY Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide prevention.

Anthro Weekend Utah

And in Utah we had Anthro Weekend Utah (oh wait, their anagram is AWU. Clever!) where 2,438 lovely attendees raised $35,577.05 for Nuzzles & Co, a no-kill shelter which have found homes for over 25,000 pets so far!

CHOC Walk

Koda Bear The Explorer joined the 2024 CHOC walk presented by the Disneyland resort in California and managed to raise $5,305. CHOC is an organisation dedicated to pediatric healthcare, providing customised health care for infants to young adults.

Furries raise over $930.000 in 2024

Each and every month, the amount is getting more surreal! As of this episode, all charities covered have raised over $930,000! From which almost 25% went to LGBTQ related charities, a bit over 21% went to human aid and a little over 53% went to animal related charities, which after all these years is still a fandom favourite!

Other furry news

Spyro

The French Playstation twitter account is known to post out of the box promotions. And I am not one to go along with most attempts of brand posts. But this one deserves an exception. They took a Spyro figurine and a drone. And some afterFX
later, we truly can flying with Spyro!

IWAG 2024

Last month we had the Indonesia Weekend Anthro Gathering (or in short, IWAG, teehee, another fun acronym) and where Western furcons tend to go 3D, or virtual with opening videos, the Asian convention pull their animation game to a whole new level. Just check out these good vibes!

Glass Kangaroo

The amount of fursuits world wide is truly exploding, and it often seems difficult to stand out. Well, this glass kangaroo sure did! Owned by Aoi Kitsune, this lovely hopper shines bright like a diamond and steals the spotlight everywhere they go!

Breath Of The Sun

Speaking of standing out, YanWu posted this excellent video with a flame sword. Absolutely love the effects!

Capybara

I have been on the internet for a long long LONG time, and Weebl’s Stuff never failed not to make me laugh. Recently they uploaded a new track: Capybara. While we love that little friend of all, mixed with Ska and Drum’n Bass we ended up with an amazing track!
