Update (23 Dec): Crimestrikers has been released.

Crimestrikers, a furry role playing game supplement, is scheduled to be published in November by Spectrum Games.

The game is set on Creaturia, a world of anthropomorphic animals with futuristic technology. The colorful, highly skilled heroes are the best agents of CIPO (Creaturian International Police Organization), who are called into action after the world's most dangerous super-villains escape from the Quarry, a maximum security prison. The Crimestrikers pursue the escapees, including several cunning evildoers who work for the a variety of nefarious groups.

• Outrage - An international crime syndicate whose leader, Vance Coffin, is the Crimestrikers' major enemy.
• PARCH - A terrorist organization that wants to destroy the amphibious humanoid species known as the Hydrerans.
• Emperor Rasavanto - A Hydreran "Warlord of the Seas" who seeks to conquer the surface world.
• The Time Terror Team - Three legendary criminals from Creaturian history brought into the present.
• The Righteous One - A costumed vigilante with sinister motives.
• Steelwing - A bat with cyborg wings who seeks to retake the nation he once ruled as a dictator.

Those attending Anthrocon this year that have an interest in non-fiction works about our little fandom will not want to miss the session I am hosting on Sunday, July 2nd to preview my book looking at the history of furries, Furry Nation. The book gives this "greymuzzle" freelance writer's perspective, having been in the fandom since 1988; a journey which all began with a surprise invitation in the mail to something called a 'furry party' being held at a Philadelphia Sci-Fi convention.

Furry Nation tells the story of the fandom’s birth and growth, from the earliest “funny animal” comic book fans and convention organizers to the worldwide fandom it is today. Artists, fursuit builders, and fans of all stripes are profiled, and of course our rocky relationship with the Hollywood animation community is also examined. In the book’s final chapter a genetic scientist discusses the possibility that genetic therapy will someday transform humans into actual anthropomorphic animals. Furry has indeed transformed many lives, including my own in ways I never expected— personal experiences that became a part of Furry Nation.

On May 16, a trailer for the upcoming Sonic Forces revealed a surprising direction for the hedgehog’s latest 3D venture. The new character that will be joining the blue blur in his adventure would not be just another Sonic Team-crafted sidekick. Instead, it will be a character you yourself develop that will team up to take down the meddling Eggman.

That’s right, the infamous Sonic "Original Character" is now canon. But how much can you customize to bring your dream character to life? Let's take a look at what's known so far.

I couldn't get a hold of a Marvel Previews this month, so none of those this time. This is month of the Squirrel Girl/Howard the Duck crossover, so that's kind of unfortunate. Oh, well.

Every month, in addition to the solicits we'll get to in a minute, Preview runs top 100 bestsellers list; it's a few months behind, so it's a bit confusing, especially when you remember this is the October issue which comes out in September with solicits for December, and the top 100 list is for August. So, anyway, furry comics that made the list for August 2015 include:

• Howard the Duck #5 at 82,
• Guardians of Knowhere #3 at 29 and
• Guardians of Knowhere #2 at 24.

About two comic lists back, there was some confusion about the top 100 bestsellers list Previews also runs, which are also covered in these lists, so from now on we'll try and explain that before just starting up a random list of titles from a month that isn't the actual month being previewed. That would begin this month, but there weren't enough furry titles to make the list to make it worthwhile.

Marvel has been rebooting everything, again, which means a bunch of new characters have moved up to official Avengers status, including Deadpool (the big news for comics nerds), Songbird (a personal favorite of mine) and, oh, yeah, on the actually furry side, Squirrel Girl. But that's just me geeking out, so onward to solicits.
