Fursuit Maker Beware

Furry Reddit - Sat 9 Jan 2016 - 21:41

FURSUIT MAKER REVIEW Commission type : Fursuit head Crazy Shepherd Creations

Her page: https://www.facebook.com/CrazyShepherdCreations/?fref=ts Rating : 0/10 Would NEVER recommend Amanda Daigle, owner of Crazy Shepherd Creations. I first commissioned her on August 10th 2015. Before I commissioned her, we spoken at Anthrocon. She gave me a quote of 475$ on the spot and said that if I commissioned her. She would have my head done in a month, which was really good for a head, so I agreed to commission her when I got payed. August came around and I paid her in full. For the first few weeks, things went smoothly. She was updating me on the fur colors and keeping me updated with the foam base (She posted on her page that she had 2 heads for a completion date of September 29th (One was mine, since she had told me I was the first on her list ) . When the date we agreed on approached(September 29th) She had told me that she had messed up on the furring of the head and would have to push the date another month. Mistakes happen, so I let it go and agreed to wait. But for 2 weeks I didn't hear anything from her, so I sent her a message asking about the status of the head. She said it was being worked on and it would be done soon but didn't supply any photos. Being she was a month late and I persisted to ask her for photo evidence it was being worked on. Her message back to me was that I was harassing her, and if I messaged her again asking for updates she would drop my commission without a refund. I waited a whole entire month after that, waiting for her to provide an update. Sure enough, I heard nothing from her. As the consumer I want to know what’s happening to my product that’s being made, so I emailed her and said “Hello, As the investor of the project, I would like details about the progress. I'd like to hold a video conference pertaining to the status of the commission on either November 21st or 22nd. Thank you Kero” Her response was not what I was hoping for, she responded with “I'm not going to hold a "video conference". I do not appreciate the way you are acting at all. I have made the decision to drop your commission. Due to personal reasons I have decided to drop your commission. Without a refund. I will post my terms of service below so you can read over them again. In the future I suggest a more patient approach with a more understanding attitude. If I do complete the suit and I do get a profit I will consider reimbursing a portion of your purchase, however that is my decision. Sorry for the upset, Crazy Shepherd Creations. ” So I was without a head and my $475. What she did violates buyer protection laws, essentially making what she did illegal. If you are a business and you sell a product you have to give that product to the commissioner. You cannot steal their money. So I filed a dispute with PayPal and I won back my money. She eventually finished the head and sold it to the highest bidder. I was unaware of this since she unfriended me and blocked me on Facebook. I wanted this drama to be over with. I wasted almost 4 months on this drama. But sadly it didn’t stop. A friend of mind messaged me a photo of a fursuit head that looked unmistakably like my design. I was confused and was wondering if someone stole my design. But that wasn’t the case. When she dropped the commission, she said she would change the design of the suit head so it didn’t match my character. Her attempt was lazy. All she changed was the hair color and the eyes of the suit. My markings were moved around a very slight bit, but it still resembled me. I asked many of my friends if the head looked like my design and they agreed. There was no way of knowing who purchased the suit. Since the suit head was almost exactly like my design, I figured I could try to track down who bought it and see if they would like to sell it to me. But after 2 weeks I failed in my search. But it wasn’t until today I got a message from the person who bought it. Apparently Amanda sold it for 850 $ .Almost 2 times the amount I paid for. I asked if I could buy it from them but apparently it was for a younger sibling who was just getting into fursuiting. I couldn’t take that head away from them, I would feel so bad if I did. So I let them keep it. At least I know that the head went to a good home. Over all I had a terrible experience with Crazy Shepherd Creations, I would never recommend her to anyone.

Furry Reddit - Sat 9 Jan 2016 - 19:10

I don't know if anyone's done this before, but I want to see a comparison of artwork of your fursona with your matching fursuit. Y'now, just wondering. ;)

Casual Confursation #5

Furry Reddit - Sat 9 Jan 2016 - 17:06

Hey Fellow Furs! Welcome to the thread series where we talk about the "normal" things in our lives with a uniquely furry twist. Everyone here has different interests and differing levels of activity within the fandom, and that provides a really interesting setting for discussion. We're an overwhelmingly receptive community, and we have a lot to share that often doesn't get discussed here in the sub, so take this as an opportunity to do so! Don't let two people have all the fun - if you have an interest in their conversation hop right in - it's a fun and easy way to learn about new people and interests.

Answer as yourself or your fursona - just keep in mind both the rules of reddit and the sub - and above all else be casual! Be willing to discuss and learn about others or about new topics - whatever they may be.

Please remember that this thread should be driven by you, the members of the community! Do not feel restricted by just what is being discussed - if you want to talk about something - shout it out!

For this thread, the icebreakers are:

  • Given the powerball lottery in the US tonight - what would you do with if you won a jackpot of $900 million dollars? (Prob kill joying here but remember that you'd probably then have like $500 million to spend following taxes XD)

  • What is your favorite sport to play - and then your favorite sport to watch? If they are different - why is that?

  • Where has been the favorite place you've lived? For what reasons is it your favorite?

  • Do you have a favorite piece of art you've either created or commissioned? Please share it! In connection with this - do you have a favorite artist in the fandom?

  • Given the weekend - how was your week? Anything exciting or new occur?

  • Your own topics!

Please remember to look around after posting and see what our other sub members have discussed! Hop into the conversation and mix things up!

In a furry universe, would we have skinsonas?

Furry Reddit - Sat 9 Jan 2016 - 15:10

Instead of there being the furry fandom, would there be the human fandom? Or something else entirely?
