FC-5 Frosty Funeral - Another round of under produced banter based on viewer e-mail thingies. Josh turns into a zombie, which we gracefully put on a leash and keep as a pet, by viewer request. The chat room gets just a bit more crazy,

Another round of under produced banter based on viewer e-mail thingies. Josh turns into a zombie, which we gracefully put on a leash and keep as a pet, by viewer request. The chat room gets just a bit more crazy, and the echo filter just gets a little bit more wet. It’s getting REALLY hard to come up with crap for these descriptions by the way…

TUFF Puppy is coming your way

In-Fur-Nation - Fri 13 Aug 2010 - 19:35

Butch Hartman is a busy busy man. The creator of the hit Nickelodeon shows The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom has yet another 2D animation show called T.U.F.F. Puppy, premiering this September on Saturday mornings. According to Animation Magazine, the show “…follows the adventures of the enthusiastic Dudley Puppy who is recruited to work for the mysterious Turbo Underground Fighting Force (T.U.F.F.) along with the sophisticated Kitty Katswell (think a feline version of Emma Peel!).” Our heroes find themselves in a constant battle with the master super-villain known as Verminious Snaptrap.

Furry Author Nominated for Actual Award

furryne.ws - Fri 13 Aug 2010 - 17:28
While hearing that Kyell Gold has been nominated for an award may seem old news by this point, hearing that he was nominated for an award by a decades old, non-furry, science fiction club adds a new level of legitimacy to the fandom. "Race to the Moon" (which many of you may know better as "that Kyell Gold story with no sex in it"), was chosen as a finalist for the Washington Science Fiction Association's Small Press Awards, in the category of Short Fiction. A total of eight stories were selected as finalists.

Jules Unboxing the World

Fauna Urbana - Fri 13 Aug 2010 - 03:10

Before we talk about this game, we must talk about the company behind it first.

“Sulistas Games” is a startup company run by two people, held on São Paulo, Brazil. One of them is an active member of the furry fandom. Bringing their background expertise in games, which includes Ubisoft, they are thriving to raise their startup company, and they have just released their first game: Jules Unboxing the World.

Released yesterday (Aug 12, 2010) on iTunes Store, the game is about Jules, a charismatic red-blue creature with long ears and tail, who one morning discovered that all people in the world were boxed! And now is up to him to release them, rolling and opening all boxes. But be careful! Some enemies will try to catch you, and of course, box you.

Fauna Urbana had access to the Beta version, kindly provided by Ikiepu (the furry behind it). As we tested, we fell in love with the gameplay and art.

With gorgeous handmade graphics, excellent music and making use of the iPad’s accelerometer, this game gave us a lot of entertainment and it was an excellent way spend time. As you see on the video bellow, we tested during a subway trip; some passengers got curious, of course.

This game is made for iPad, and you can play 30 levels + 3 endless challenges just for $4.99. Buying the game will not give you just fun, but will support this new startup and show to the world what our fandom has at it best!

Congratulations Sulistas Games, and we already bought our copy! :)

Furry in the news - Anthropaws story live on the Web!

Furries In The Media - Thu 12 Aug 2010 - 17:05
I recently did a story for my newspapers Business section on Anthropaws, a local fursuit-making company, and its coming out tomorrow in print and was just posted on the Web. Its a weekly community paper in the suburban Seattle area with a circulation of over 40,000.br /br /Ive wanted to do the story for a while and finally got the opportunity - my boss was like quot;Your co-worker is going on vacation so I need you to write a business story for us. Either you come up with something or I will find something for you!quot;br /br /*squee*br /br /I think it turned out really really well and was a great chance for me to present the fandom, and fursuiting, in a positive light as well as help Ithabise get off the ground with some commissions. Granted this was a business story so I couldnt go into that much detail about the fandom itself but I did the best I could with what I had to work with.br /br /I also got to lay out the newspaper this issue, so I put a photo of Dyno (Ithabises German Shepherd suit) really big right on the cover and teased to the story inside. Ill post pictures tomorrow!br /br /I hope everyone enjoys the article and thanks for taking the time to read it!nbsp; (click the link below)br /br /a href=http://www.pnwlocalnews.com/east_king/red/business/100571609.htmlspan style=font-size: larger;strongAnthropaws: Bringing quot;furryquot; characters to life/strong/span/abr /Redmond-based company specializes in conceptualizing, creating and repairing animal mascot costumesbr /

The 2010 Animation Pitch Party

In-Fur-Nation - Thu 12 Aug 2010 - 01:18

The August 2010 issue of Animation magazine presented the results of the 2010 Pitch Party — where interested folk submit “pitches” for proposed animated series, consisting of a single illustrated panel. The “pitches” are judged by a group of industry experts, among them Kevin Gamble of Disney TV Animation, Brian Jones of Cartoon Network, and Kim Manning of Adult Swim. Among the submissions of note for furry fans were items like Dino-Might by Dom Voser (domvoser.blogspot.com), Pug & Cat by Brittany Langlois (brinnyart.com), Wolf Whiskers by Keith Krail, Backyard Dragon by Scotland D. Barnes, Monkey & Robot by Ken Gray and Mars Elliot (monkeyandrobotgo.com), The Monster Monkeys (www.atomicmonkeyltd.com), Samurai Chinchilla by Kristine Marsh (www.kristinemarsh.com), Rebel With Paws by Christopher Slaughter, Fireflyz Avengers by Don and Julie Farmer, Joe Chameleon by Dave Barton Thomas (www.seizethedave.ca), Franken-Cat by Simon Shocket (franken-cat.blogspot.com), and Eddie the Disgruntled Reindeer (eddiethedisgruntledreindeer.com). Gotta love that last one for the title alone. Visit the Animation Magazine web site to find out more about entering your own ideas in next year’s Pitch Party.
